    • In one embodiment, a method for balancing clock signals in a clock tree includes, at a register, receiving a divided input clock signal and a non-divided input clock signal and generating a first output clock signal based on the received divided input clock signal and the received non-divided input clock signal, the first output signal being associated with a first delay. The method further includes, at a delay line, receiving the non-divided input signal, delaying the non-divided input signal for a time substantially equivalent to the first delay, and generating a second output clock signal associated with a second delay substantially equal to the first delay. The method further includes: (1) receiving at a multiplexer the first output signal, the second output signal, and a select control signal indicating which of the first output signal or the second output signal to select; (2) selecting at the multiplexer either the received first output signal or the second output signal based on the select control signal; and (3) generating the selected first output signal or second output signal as a substantially balanced third output signal.

    • An antenna system includes a planar substrate, a conductive ground plane, and an upper antenna element. The conductive ground plane is on the substrate. A slot that is free of conductive material extends through the ground plane to define a lower antenna element from a portion of the ground plane. The upper antenna element is spaced apart and overlies at least a portion of the lower antenna element. A first location of the upper antenna element is electrically connected to the ground plane and a spaced apart second location of the upper antenna element is electrically connected to an antenna feed element. The upper antenna element is configured to electrically resonate responsive to a defined RF signal. The lower antenna element is configured to resonate through capacitive coupling to the resonating upper antenna element.

    • An antenna that includes an ultra wideband (UWB) feed element, a parasitic conductive element, and a radio frequency (RF) switch. The UWB feed element is capable of radiating a first frequency band. The parasitic conductive element is connected to an electrical ground and capable of radiating a second frequency band. The parasitic conductive element has no electrical contact with the UWB feed element. The RF switch is connected between the parasitic conductive element and the electrical ground and configured to vary an electrical current path between the parasitic conductive element and the electrical ground. The varying of the electrical current path changes a resonant frequency of the second frequency band of the antenna.

    • An antenna configuration for a flip type mobile phone is disclosed. The antenna configuration is designed to reduce, to a hearing aid compatibility (HAC) M3 rating or better, any scattered EM field effects that can cause interference to an active hearing aid. The antenna configuration comprises a halfwave type antenna extendable from the lower portion of the mobile phone. The antenna does not share the same vertical axis as the lower portion of the mobile phone when extended. Rather, it forms a tilt angle (α) that extends the antenna away from the upper portion of the mobile phone creating a greater separation distance between the speaker and the antenna. An antenna feed contact couples the antenna to components within the mobile phone. An antenna matching network can tune and attenuate the antenna configuration to enhance operation in the GSM frequency bands.

    • An apparatus, system and method for asynchronously reducing power in a power domain. In one embodiment, the method includes: (1) receiving a sleep command for the power domain, (2) receiving, upon receiving the sleep command, an affirmative retention status signal denoting that a retention area in the power domain has stored data, (3) receiving, upon receiving the sleep command, an affirmative isolation status signal that denotes that an isolation of the power domain has occurred and (4) providing a power domain off command to the power domain upon receiving at least the sleep command, the affirmative status retention signal and the affirmative status isolation signal.
