摘要： An ultrasonic welding system and a method are provided. The system includes an ultrasonic welding device having an ultrasonic welding horn. The system further includes a controller generating control signals for inducing the welding device to form a first weld joint. The system further includes a power adjusting unit that induces the ultrasonic welding controller to increase a power level output by the ultrasonic welding controller to the ultrasonic welding device if a first displacement of the welding horn is less than the desired displacement during partial completion of forming the first weld joint, such that upon completion of the first weld joint an ending position of the ultrasonic welding horn is at a desired ending position.

摘要： A battery system and a method for cooling the battery system are provided. The system includes an evaporative cooling member, and a battery module having a housing, a battery cell, and a solid cooling fin. The housing holds the battery cell therein. The solid cooling fin has first and second panel portions. The first panel portion is disposed against the battery cell. The second panel portion extends through the housing and is disposed on the evaporative cooling member. The solid cooling fin conducts heat energy from the battery cell to the evaporative cooling member. The evaporative cooling member receives a gaseous-liquid refrigerant and transitions the gaseous-liquid refrigerant into a gaseous refrigerant utilizing the heat energy received from the solid cooling fin.

摘要： Apparatus and methods are provided for improving scalability of a storage system. In one embodiment, a storage system comprising a stand-alone storage element that is reconfigurable to improve storage performance features of the storage system. The storage element comprises a plurality of disk drives, each configured for storing data. The storage element also comprises a storage controller communicatively adapted for coupling to a host computer system and configured for processing I/O requests received from the host computer system. The storage controller is also adaptable to interface with another storage controller added to the storage system. When adapted to communicate with the other storage controller, the storage controller of the stand-alone storage element can route the I/O requests to the other storage controller through a switching fabric.
