摘要： A method and apparatus for estimating and compensating for a broad class of non-Gaussian sensor and process noise. In one example, a coded filter combines a dynamic state estimator (for example, a Kalman filter) and a non-linear estimator to provide approximations of the non-Gaussian process and sensor noise associated with a dynamic system. These approximations are used by the dynamic state estimator to correct sensor measurements or to alter the dynamic model governing evolution of the system state. Examples of coded filters leverage compressive sensing techniques in combination with error models based on concepts of compressibility and the application of efficient convex optimization processes.

摘要： A seat belt anchor with a first leg which has a first shank carried by a first base. The shank is elongate, generally tubular, with a top, a longitudinal axis, and an axial recess. The axial recess has an end which is open to the top of the shank. The base, which carries the shank, is generally flat with top and bottom surfaces and a hole for receiving a bolt.The first base is joined to the first shank at the end of the shank distal from the top of the shank and the open end of the recess. The longitudinal axis of the first shank is curved toward the top of the first base at a first curving angle A which is less than 180 degrees, desirably, 110 to 140 degrees and preferably about 135 degrees.The first curving angle A has an apex which is disposed a first selected distance from the top of the first shank.The seat belt anchor has a second leg similar to the first leg.The first base is disposed over the second base and arranged with longitudinal axes of the first and second respective bases being crossed one over the other and the holes in alignment. The first and second shanks are bent toward one another and have respective first and second bending angles C and D.The first and second bending angles are each selected so that the recesses are within about 10 degrees of being parallel with respect to each other when the first and second bases are arranged as described immediately above.A method of making the seat belt anchor of the invention is also provided.

摘要： A risk-based patient monitoring system for critical care patients combines data from multiple sources to assess the current and the future risks to the patient, thereby enabling providers to review a current patient risk profile and to continuously track a clinical trajectory. A physiology observer module in the system utilizes multiple measurements to estimate Probability Density Functions (PDF) of a number of Internal State Variables (ISVs) that describe a components of the physiology relevant to the patient treatment and condition. A clinical trajectory interpreter module in the system utilizes the estimated PDFs of ISVs to identify under which probable patient states the patient can be currently categorized and assign a probability value that the patient will be in each of the identified states. The combination of patient states and their probabilities is defined as the clinical risk to the patient.
