    • The camera shutter device has four blades disposed in overlapping relation to each other and comprised of a pair of dominant blades effective to cover a dominant part of an aperture and another pair of supplementary blades effective to cover the remaining part of the aperture. A shutter substrate has a central section formed with the aperture and a pair of peripheral sections disposed in symmetrical relation to each other with respect to the aperture. A first support mechanism is disposed on one of the peripheral sections for rotatably supporting a first group of two blades selected from the four blades on the substrate. A second support mechanism is disposed on the other of the peripheral sections for rotatably supporting a second group composed of the two remaining blades on the substrate. An operating mechanism is disposed on the substrate for operating the first and second groups of blades simultaneously with each other to slide the four blades relative to the aperture to thereby effect opening and closing of the aperture.

    • A magnetic disc mounting mechanism for use in a disc drive unit adapted to drive a magnetic disc while magnetically attracting and holding the disc on a spindle shaft. The coupling mechanism includes a forcible pressing member for forcibly fitting a center core of the disc onto the spindle shaft and a member which is adapted to release the pressing of the forcible pressing member while operating an ejecting mechanism. This member operates to release, after the forcible pressing member has pressed the center core of the disc onto the spindle shaft such as to couple the disc to the spindle shaft, the pressing force exerted by the pressing member so that the load of the spindle motor during driving the disc is reduced advantageously.

    • A camera has a movable lens barrel that is stowed in a camera body while the camera is inactive, and is protruded from the camera body to a near range focusing position or a far range focusing position by rotating a drive ring in one direction. The movable barrel returns to the stowed position by rotating the drive ring further in the same direction, because of a cam mechanism interconnecting the drive ring with the movable barrel. To rotate the drive ring, a rotational power of a motor in a first direction is transmitted to the drive ring through a clutch mechanism. The clutch mechanism is switched over according to the rotational direction of the motor and transmits a rotational power of the motor in a second direction to another mechanism. A controller controls driving the motor in response to signals entered through manually operated members, including a power switch, a shutter button and a zone selector, with reference to detection signals from a barrel position detector.
