摘要： A wheelchair having a lower frame with drive wheels and forwardly extending arms with casters and an upper frame with a seat and backrest. Linkage assemblies on opposing sides pivotably attach at a first end to the lower frame and at a second end to the upper frame. Power cylinders attached on opposing sides are extendable between the upper frame and the lower frame and are lockable from moving from a selected position. When unlocked, the power cylinders apply a supplemental force in association with a force applied by a user on the drive wheels for moving the upper frame relative to the lower frame guided by the linkage assembly. A method of adjusting the seat height of a wheelchair is disclosed.

摘要： A platelike projecting component portion of a component used in gas turbines or other similar applications includes a surface upon which hot gas acts and cooling bores through which a cooling medium is capable of flowing. Effective cooling is achieved by providing at least one plenum assigned solely to the component portion. The plenum is arranged so as to be directly adjacent to the surface upon which hot gas acts and through which the cooling medium is capable of flowing to provide convective heat transfer. The cooling bores are designed as blow-out orifices which emanate from the plenum and issue the cooling medium onto the surface upon which hot gas acts, thereby forming a cooling film.

The system uses motion-based measurements to determine when the user applies a push to the wheelchair handrims and brakes with the handrims. The brake recognition deactivates the power assist. The provided power assist is proportional to the sensed push and can be modulated to different proportional settings.

摘要： An adjustable manual wheelchair handrim with a moveable elastomeric friction band. The position of the tubular handrim can be moved to a desired location relative to the wheel rim depending on the needs and limits of the user. The movable friction band is stretched around the drive surface of the handrim at a desired location preventing it from moving and providing increased frictional properties when gripped by the user during pushes.
