    • A data packet transmission network comprises a stream of packets of data sent by a first terminal passes in transit through at least one network equipment with which there is associated a stream measurement unit; wherein said first terminal and said measurement unit are connected to a collection unit.     • A modular input/output (I/O) system for field wiring includes a plurality of base units into which electronics modules providing appropriate signal processing are plugged. A backplane in each base unit provides leads between the electronics module and associated terminals to which the field wiring is connected and also hosts a communications bus through which the electronics modules on serially connected base members communicate with a controller. Switching modules plugged into some of the base members selectively switch field signals applied to terminals for an associated electronics module to another electronics module for redundancy, or switch test signals into the associated electronics module in place of the field wiring signals. The test signals are generated by yet another of the electronics modules while still another electronics module generates control signals for the switching modules.

For embodiments having permeable bolster stuff sacks, the entire bolster stuff sack assembly may preferably be laundered, e.g. washed and dried, as a unit, i.e. with the stuffing retained. The enhanced bolsters may preferably be provided without stuffing, but with instructions on how to stuff the enhanced bolster.

    • A portable coordinate measuring machine has an adjustment mechanism that allows fine movement of the base into alignment with reference lines or planes. The machine has a heavy base pivotally mounted at one end on a first support and slidably mounted at the other end on a second support. The second support has a pair of arcuate slots that receive a pair of pins connected to the base member. A lead screw is connected to the base member and threadedly engaged with a nut. The nut is pivotally connected to the second support. A user turns a handle or wheel on the lead screw to cause the base to pivot about the pivot point of the first support. This pivoting motion effects fine adjustment of the base's position to align it with reference lines or planes.
