    • A fuse is provided that includes a housing and a first lead and a second lead. The fuse further includes a fuse element having a current capacity. The fuse element forms a part of an electrical pathway between the first lead and the second lead. The fuse also includes a switch unit in communication with the housing and in series with the fuse element. The switch unit has an open state and a closed state. When the switch unit is in the closed state, the electrical pathway is connected to form a closed pathway between the first lead and the second lead, and when the switch unit is in the open state, the electrical pathway is disconnected to provide an open circuit between the first lead and the second lead.

    • A bipolar transistor structure with multiple electrodes configured to include an enhanced base capacitive element. Alternatively, a transistor with an integrated light emitting capacitive (LEC) element at the source or drain of the transistor. The transistor may be a stand alone transistor for usage in discrete applications, or may be implemented in a pixel circuit used in a display apparatus. In the pixel circuit embodiment, driver circuitry causes appropriate charging and discharging of the LEC elements of respective pixels to provide a desired display. In one alternative, a transistor may be configured to have multiple LEC elements integrated therewith, to provide respective different colors used in forming a display.

    • A computer design based on a platform of multiple central processing units (CPUs). When running multiple applications, each of the multiple CPUs performs all the processing for one of the individual applications. All of the multiple CPUs may operate below the physical layer of the OSI model. They may communicate with each other in a various manners, and they each communicate with a “gateway” CPU that is logically disposed above them on the physical level. The gateway CPU acts as a door or clearinghouse to and from the underground layer. The processing that occurs by the multiple CPUs on the underground layer allows a higher level of security, reliability, and speed compared to conventional single-CPU multitasking systems.
