摘要： A digital tuner of the invention has: a filter section that selects a desired reception signal from inputted reception signals; a converter section that performs frequency conversion on the desired reception signal selected by the filter section; a level monitor section that monitors, with respect to a signal based on the signal outputted from the filter section, the signal levels thereof at two or more frequencies within the reception band; and a waveform shaper section that varies the waveform inclination of signals based on the inputted reception signals within the reception band according to the results of monitoring by the level monitor section. This configuration helps reduce the waveform inclination of the output signal.

摘要： The present invention provides a device and a method for accurately and efficiently controlling an access from an external network to an internal network. Both a client device connectable to the external network and an application gateway store shared secret information (Secret) including a client ID: GUID(C) as an ID generated by the client and a server ID: GUID(S) as an ID generated by the application gateway in respective storage units. In response to an access request from the client, the application gateway determines whether the client has appropriate shared secret information (Secret) so as to determine an access right. With this configuration, a right of access from the external network to the internal network, such as a home network, can be efficiently and accurately determined.

摘要： In a printing system in which with a plurality of different types of controllers connected to one serial bus, different types of print data can be inputted to and printed by a printing unit. When a set top box and desktop and portable personal computers, different in type from each other, are connected to a IEEE 1394 serial bus, screen data is outputted from the set top box to an AV/C printer and PDL data is outputted from the personal computers to the AV/C printer. The AV/C printer judges the image type of the input data. Based on the image type, the printing system converts the print data to a type of print data supported by the AV/C printer.

摘要： This receiving circuit includes a digital-control-type variable gain amplifier amplifying an RF signal for analog television broadcasting, a detection circuit detecting a level of an output signal of the amplifier and controlling gain of the amplifier such that the detected signal level attains a predetermined level, and a signal detection circuit setting a control signal (CNT) to the “H” level during a vertical blanking period in response to a vertical synchronizing signal. The detection circuit controls the gain of the amplifier during a time period in which the control signal (CNT) is set to the “H” level, and stops the control over the gain of the amplifier during the other time periods. Therefore, noise caused by gain fluctuations is created only during the vertical blanking period and does not appear on a television picture.

摘要： A plurality of detectors are included which have different detection frequencies. The detectors detect the signal level of an IF signal at the respective detection frequencies. The IF signal is produced by frequency conversion of an incoming signal in a mixing section. A comparator identifies the modulation scheme of the incoming signal from a comparison of the signal levels detected by the detectors. Accordingly, a detecting circuit is realized which is contained in a common multi-scheme receiver receiving a plurality of transmission signals with different modulation schemes and which identifies various modulation schemes for incoming signals.
