The hull envelopes, which are generally cigar-shaped, are located side by side, with or without spacing of adjacent envelopes apart. Engine-propulsion and/or wind-propulsion devices can be supported on the framework, with or without adaptation of the envelopes thereto. Such vessels are useful for general transportation or for special recreational uses such as carrying persons for deep-sea fishing, or pulling persons on water skies along the surface, or persons held aloft by a parachute-like sail (or "parasail") above the surface, and are capable of high-speed travel.

The drive rollers are connected to articulating arms (56) which pivot about axis (58, 59) near the center of the head end (21) and the foot end (22) of the bed. A transfer/turning sheet (66) removably connects to the drive rollers. By raising the drive roller on one side of the bed a patient (80) will be rolled over toward the opposite side. That drive rolled will then be lowered and the transfer/turning sheet will lay flat on the mattress again. The patient can be transferred laterally (47) across the bed by turning the drive rollers.

By activating the controls on hand grip and controls (98) a user is lifted upward and forward, rotated to another direction, and lowered on another device. Platform (91) is for a legless user not needing the more elaborate support provided by body rest (92). Storage tank (110) supplies compressed air for driving the various functions.
