    • Mounting rings and methods for mounting structures to shafts are provided. The rings and methods may be used to mount other rings or housings to a shaft. The rings are characterized by having flexible inner diameters that can deflect under a radial load. The radial deflection of the inner diameter permits the rings to deflect and engage an outer diameter of a shaft. The engagement of the rings with a shaft provides at least some resistance to movement, for example, rotation and/or axial displacement, of the shaft relative to the ring and structure. In one aspect, the ring has a closed, hollow, construction, for example, a circular, oval, or polygonal closed, hollow construction. The ring may include a plurality of indentations, such as slots, on the inside diameter of the ring that may relieve at least some of the circumferential stress in the ring. Methods for using the rings to mount a structure to a shaft are also disclosed.

    • A system for use in measuring an end play of a wheel hub assembly includes a follower configured to extend through an opening in a cover connected to a wheel hub. The cover covers the wheel hub such that the cover inhibits access to an end of a shaft of the wheel hub assembly, and the follower is configured to contact the end through the opening. The follower is received in a holder engageable with the cover such that the follower is movable relative to the cover and the holder to allow the follower to extend from the holder to contact the end of the shaft. A frame has a cavity receiving a measurement probe extending outwardly from the cavity. The probe contacts the follower and is configured to measure movement of the follower to determine endplay of the bearing assembly on the shaft. The frame includes a plurality of legs extending from the frame to a hub mounted on the shaft and coupled to the bearing to support the frame relative to the hub.

    • A system for providing a load on a bearing mounted to a shaft includes an attaching member and a press mechanism. The attaching member is releasably connected to the shaft. The press member is coupled to the attaching member and is configured to provide a compressive load to the bearing. The press mechanism includes an aligning arm configured to engage a shaft slot of the shaft to align the press mechanism relative to the shaft when the attaching member connects to the shaft. A lock nut is engageable with the shaft and has a plurality of engaging teeth configured to engage a plurality of keeper teeth of a keeper. The nut includes an outer surface having a plurality of markings corresponding to a plurality of roots of the plurality of engaging teeth to allow a user to selectively rotate the nut relative to the aligning arm to an engaging position such that a radially inner side of the keeper engages a slot of the shaft when the keeper teeth engage the engaging teeth of the nut.

    • An interlocking disc spring assembly includes a plurality of alternating interlocking first conically-shaped disc springs and second conically-shaped disc springs. The first disc spring includes a first radial inner portion and a first radial outer portion. The first radial inner portion defines a first opening therethrough and includes an upwardly-extending portion spaced from the first opening. The first radial outer portion includes a downwardly-depending portion. The second disc spring has a second radial inner portion and a second radial outer portion. The second radial inner portion defines a second opening therethrough and includes a downwardly-depending portion. The second radial outer portion of the second disc spring is receivable within the downwardly-depending portion of the first radial outer portion of the first disc spring when the first disc spring is stacked on the second disc spring. The downwardly-depending portion of the second radial inner portion of the second disc spring is receivable within the upwardly-extending portion of the first radial inner portion of the first disc spring when the second disc spring is stacked on the first disc spring. In another embodiment, an adjustable spacer may connect the inner portions of adjacent interlocking disc springs.
