    • A tracked, amphibious vehicle, comprising at least two, spaced, elongated pontoons disposed generally parallel to one another. A platform structure can be supported by and structurally connects the pontoons, the platform structure including a transom, a lowermost generally horizontally extending panel above a free clearance area under a bottom panel and between the pontoons through which terrain and debris can pass. A hydraulic drive system can propel the vehicle, said drive system including left and right hydraulic motors mounted on the pontoons. At least one series of longitudinally spaced bogie wheels for supporting said vehicle can be mounted along the bottom of the pontoons. A continuous, endless belt can encircle each pontoon and engages the bogie wheels. Ground-engaging cleats assembled on the outer surface of each belt and covering the pontoon bottom provide traction to the vehicle. Gearing interfaces the motor with the endless belts. A supplemental, marine drive assembly includes: a hydraulic motor having a rotary device, shaft, with an axis, a propeller shaft having an axis wherein the motor axis and propeller axis are aligned, a universal joint connecting the hydraulic motor to the transom, and a housing including a sleeve that contains the propeller shaft, a first vertical plate connected to the sleeve and a second vertical plate connected to the sleeve below the first plate.

    • A crab claw processing machine for cutting and removal of the shell comprising a machine body having a rotating table mounted thereon. The rotating table has a plurality of rotary claw holders provided with individual drive sprockets mounted at its peripheral edge portion, each rotary claw holder being capable of holding a crab claw to be processed. As the rotating table is spun by a power source, such as an electric motor, the sprockets of each peripherally placed rotary claw holder engage a fixed drive chain which spins the respective sprocket rotary claw holder, and the crab claw contained therein. Each rotary claw holder and its contained crab claw are sequentially brought in to proximity with a high-speed rotating saw capable of cutting the claw. The saw can be provided with a gauge for controlling the depth of the cut. As the rotary claw holder brings the claw in contact with the saw, the spinning action of the rotary claw holder in cooperation with the cutting action of the saw to a desired depth (as set by the depth gauge), combine to make a peripheral cut through the outer hard crustacean body portion of the crab claw, thereby exposing the meat food product.

    • An apparatus for drilling boreholes into the earth includes a mobile carrier with a frame that supports an elongated housing. The housing has upper and lower end portions. An drill pipe section holder is positioned at the lower end of a tubular member rotatably mounted in the housing for holding a drill pipe section and rotating it during placement. A plurality of drive wheels carried by the frame transport the housing between upper and lower positions. The wheels are loaded with adjustable compression springs so that extensive pressure can be applied from the drive wheels to the housing for gripping and driving the housing during insertion. A gear train interconnects the driving wheels so that all of the driving wheels rotate at the same rotational speed. Water is supplied to the housing via a bore that communicates with openings and a bore of the tubular member. The tubular member bore conveys the water to multiple sections of drill pipe (i.e. a drill string) connected end-to-end and to a drill bit at the lower end of the drill string.

    • An apparatus for placing geophones beneath the surface of the earth includes a machine frame that supports an elongated probe rod. The probe rod is dimensioned to reach a selected subterranean earth layer. The rod has upper and lower end portions. A geophone holder is positioned at the lower end of the rod for holding a geophone and its cable. A plurality of drive wheels carried by the frame transport the rod between the upper and lower positions. The drive rollers include at least an opposed pair of upper wheels and an opposed pair of lower wheels. The wheels are loaded with an adjustable spring pusher so that extensive pressure can be applied from the drive wheels to the pipe for gripping and driving the pipe even when muddy. A gear train interconnects all of the driving wheels so that all of the wheels rotate at the same rotational speed. A gear train preferably includes six gears including a pair of upper gears, a pair of lower gears, and a pair of intermediate drive gears. The intermediate drive gears are intermeshed so that a single motor rotates one of the intermediate gears and thereby drives all six of the gears of the drive train.

    • An improved apparatus for centrifugally extracting crabmeat from crabs provides a frame which supports a driven rotary shaft mounted thereon. A first annular plate is mounted for rotation on the shaft and driven thereby. A plurality of closely spaced wire support members radiate from the first plate and have a common path of rotation when the plate is rotated by the drive shaft. A second annular plate is movably mounted upon the frame with respect to the first plate between "loading" and "spinning" positions. A plurality of closely spaced, radially positioned, pointed spikes depend from the second plate and are positioned to intersect the path of rotation of the wire support members in the "spinning," the spikes being spaced from the path in the loading position. A lifting mechanism moves the second plate vertically between the "spinning" and "loading" positions. In the "loading" position the lifting mechanism spaces the second plate vertically above the first plate so that a plurality of crab body sections can be added to the periphery of the first annular plate by placing them in a circular configuration around the first plate and upon the wire support members. In the "spinning" position, the lifting mechanism lowers the second annular plate so that the spikes penetrate the crab body sections and the path of rotation of the wire members. The wire support members secure the crab body sections so that the spikes can penetrate them fully. The spikes and wire members thereafter retain the crab body sections during centrifuging while the spaced configuration of the wire support members and spikes allows ample opening for crabmeat to travel away from the crab body sections responsive to the centrifuging.
