摘要： A kit and associated method is for implanting a prosthetic device in a resected bone such as a humerus. The kit includes a trial assembly including a trial body portion having a trial bore defined therein, and a trial head portion having (i) a trail head member which includes a trial offset indicia, and (ii) an eccentrically located trial stem extending from the trial head member, the trial head stem being configured to be received within the trial bore. The kit also includes a final prosthesis assembly including a final body portion having a final bore defined therein, and a final head portion having (i) a final head member which includes a final offset indicia, and (ii) an eccentrically located final head stem extending from the final head portion, the final head stem being configured to be received within the final bore.

摘要： A shoulder arthroplasty kit for shoulder arthroplasty is provided. The kit includes a stem for insertion into the humerus and a first member. The first member has a surface having a convex periphery adapted for articulation with the natural glenoid fossia. The convex periphery includes a first articulating surface defining a generally circular outer periphery of the first articulating surface and a second articulating surface extending from a portion of the circular outer periphery of the first articulating surface. The first member is removably cooperable with said stem. The kit also includes a second member including a portion having a concave periphery. The second member is removably cooperable with the stem. The kit further includes a third member for insertion into the natural glenoid fossia. The third member includes a portion having a convex periphery. The third member is adapted for articulation with the second member.

The orientable coupling is mounted to the clamp and the saw guide. The orientable coupling is configured to adjust the saw guide at a selectable anterior/posterior angle and a selected medial/lateral angle.

摘要： An intramedullary bone plate with sheath having an intramedullary stem, a bone plate head and a neck that connects the intramedullary stem to the bone plate head in a manner where the stem and head are offset from each other longitudinally and axially in the sagittal plane. The bone plate head includes a sheath recess wherein non-threaded bone screw holes and a threaded sheath screw hole are located. Bone screws are inserted through the sheath recess and oriented at set angles allowing for bone fragment fixation and fracture reduction. A sheath element is placed within the boundaries of the sheath recess and secured with the sheath screw. The intramedullary stem includes longitudinal flutes in its distal portion and a bi-arced geometry in its proximal portion providing for stabilization of the implanted device. The bone plate head configuration provides for more complete fracture capture and multiple fixation modalities.

摘要： A wrist prosthesis has first, second, and third components that in one form are a radial component, a metacarpal component, and a bearing component. The bearing component is non-fixed or non-stationary relative to one of the radial component and the metacarpal component when the wrist prosthesis is assembled such as when implanted into a patient. As such, in one form a rotational joint or union is provided on the radial component and the bearing component. The bearing component is thus free to rotationally ride on the radial component, preferably 360° thereabout. Distal the radial component, the bearing component includes an articulation surface. The metacarpal component includes an articulation surface that is complementary to the articulation surface of the bearing component. In this manner, the metacarpal component correspondingly moves relative to the bearing component. The bearing component is preferably made of a polymer such as polyethylene.

摘要： A medical procedure includes providing a prosthesis which includes (i) a body portion having a rear surface and a bearing surface, and (ii) an anchor peg including a shaft extending from the rear surface of the body portion, wherein the anchor peg includes a plurality of outwardly extending fins secured to the shaft, and further wherein the plurality of outwardly extending fins each possesses a first diameter. The medical procedure further includes creating an anchor hole in a natural bone, the anchor hole possessing a second diameter which is less than the first diameter. In addition, the method procedure includes positioning the anchor peg within the anchor hole so that each of the plurality of outwardly extending fins deforms so as to possess (i) a concave side which faces an open end of the anchor hole, and (ii) a convex side that faces a closed end of the anchor hole.
