    • Mounting flange for a mounting fixture for mounting wheels from different makes of of motor vehicles on the shaft of a balancing machine. The mounting flange has multiple sets of centering holes lying on concentric circles surrounding the central guide hole for axial guidance of the flange on the shaft of the balancing machine. The centering holes receive centering pins terminating in conical ends which fit into the mounting holes in the automobile wheel being balanced. The centering holes of each set are identified by an appearance different from any other set, provided by a configuration or color in a depression in the surface of the mounting flange surrounding the centering hole. Thus, all the centering holes that belong to the same set can be quickly identified when inserting the centering pins. Because the identifying indicia are recessed, they are protected from wear and damage.

    • A high-speed lock nut, especially for attaching a vehicle wheel to the clamping shift of a balancing machine, has a casing or body in which at least one threaded segment is positioned in a radially movable manner. Manually actuating means serve to move the segment radially. The actuating means engage with the segment by means of a radially-acting connecting link guide comprising pins on the segments and cooperating oblique slots in a coaxial disk. By means of the connecting link guide, the segment can be activated easily and securely, even under high contact pressures, for example, with contaminated threads. Furthermore, the thread segment is automatically locked in closed position against the threaded shaft of the balancing machine by the connecting link guide. The construction is very simple.

    • A quick-clamping fixture for centering and clamping vehicle wheels on the spindle of a balancing machine, having a flange affixed to the spindle against which the cylindrical opening in the center section of a vehicle wheel is seated. A spring loaded conical fixture fits into the center opening of the wheel, and biases the conical fixture in the direction of said opening. The conical fixture is configured like a two part clamping collet the outer part having an external cylindrical surface for insertion into the centering opening of the vehicle wheel. One part of the clamping collet has a contact surface engaged by the spring, and the other has a contact surface for abutting a counterbearing. Precision centering takes place at the cylindrical inner surface of the wheel center section when the outer part of the collet expands as its conical surface slides against the complementary conical surface of the inner part. There are no centering errors due to the presence of play arising from mechanical tolerances.

    • Clamping device for fixing a wheel rim of a vehicle wheel to the shaft of a balancing machine. The clamping device comprises a locating flange which is to be fixed on the shaft of the balancing machine and has a locating face for the wheel rim; a clamping flange which is positioned on a shaft journal and can be clamped against the locating flange; centering bolts which are concentrically arranged on the clamping flange around its circumference and at equal distances from each other and at their ends facing the locating flange each has a centering cone designed to engage fixing and centering holes in the wheel rim of the vehicle wheel; and pivots which axially protrude outwards from the centering cone. A circular groove is arranged in the locating face of the locating flange. The width of the circular groove corresponds to the diameter of the pivots and the mean radius of the circular groove corresponds to the radial distance of the centering bolts to the axis of rotation of the shaft of the balancing machine.
