    • In an working machine in which: an engine and a fuel tank for the engine are mounted on a machine body; an air cleaner mounted outside the machine body has a cleaner case including a cylindrical case body and a lid body being mounted on one end of the case body, and a cleaner element being housed in the cleaner case and dividing the inside of the cleaner case into a pre-purification chamber and a post-purification chamber; and an air-outlet pipe is connected to an intake system of the engine with an intake duct interposed therebetween, a canister capable of absorbing a vaporized fuel generated in the fuel tank is attached to the fuel tank or the machine body; a purge joint communicating with the post-purification chamber is provided to the lid body of the air cleaner; and a purge conduit extending from the canister is connected to the purge joint. Accordingly, it is possible to take a vaporized fuel generated in the fuel tank into the engine by utilizing the lid body of the air cleaner.

    • In an engine oil filter system in which: a filter-attachment base is joined to one side surface of an engine; and an oil filter which filters lubricating oil supplied to the engine from an oil pump is attached to the filter-attachment base, an oil cooler for cooling down the lubricating oil transferred between the engine and the oil filter is formed integrally with the filter-attachment base. Accordingly, it is possible to provide an inexpensive engine oil filter system which includes an oil cooler constituted by utilizing a filter-attachment base, and which thus eliminates the need to modify an oil filter and also the need to form, on an engine, an attachment portion to which the oil cooler is exclusively attached.

    • A V-type engine includes: first and second banks which are arranged in a V-shape and which respectively have cylinder bores; a crankshaft which is shared by the first and second banks; a crankcase which supports the crankshaft, the first and second banks being connected to the crankcase; and a valley portion which is defined between the first and second banks, an engine auxiliary machine being disposed in the valley portion. The first and second banks are arranged so that a cylinder center line of the first bank and a cylinder center line of the second bank respectively pass through a point which is eccentric from a rotational center of the crankshaft to a side opposite from both the banks.     • An underwater scooter includes a watertight vessel enclosing an engine disposed in the fore part of a cylindrically shaped main frame, a propeller disposed in the aft area, and a driveshaft passes through the interior of the main frame and transmits the output of the engine to the propeller. An operator rides upon air tanks disposed between the engine and the propeller on the main frame, so the burden on the operator can be reduced in comparison to that of conventional types that tow the operator. In addition, the propeller is disposed aft of the operator and also the exhaust gas from the engine is exhausted aft of the operator, so there is no risk of either the jet of water ejected by the propeller or the exhaust gas reducing the field of view or causing articles (goggles, etc.) worn by the operator to come off.

    • In a breather device for engine, in which an inlet of a breather chamber communicates with a crank chamber through a reed valve, the reed valve being formed of: a fixed stopper plate arranged so as to be opposed to a valve seat formed on an end face of the inlet facing the breather chamber; and an elastic valve plate fixed at one end thereof to the stopper plate and capable of bending elastically to change its position from a closed position in which the elastic valve plate closes the inlet by seating on the valve seat to an opening limit position in which the elastic valve plate opens the inlet and abuts against the stopper plate, the stopper plate is provided at a center part thereof with an oil discharge hole through which oil present between the elastic valve plate and the stopper plate is pushed out when the elastic valve plate is pushed toward the opening limit position in which the elastic valve plate abuts against the stopper plate by pressure in the crank chamber. Accordingly, it is possible to prevent the elastic valve plate from sticking to the stopper plate even if oil mist adheres to the elastic valve plate or the stopper plate of the reed valve.

    • An underwater scooter is provided with an engine enclosed in a watertight vessel and an electric motor enclosed in the watertight vessel and connected to the output shaft of the engine, and a propeller disposed upon a main frame and connected to the output shaft of the motor to be driven and turned by at least one of the engine and the motor so as to propel the scooter. In other words, the scooter is a hybrid type having the engine and electric motor as the drive power of the propeller. With this, the operator can easily re-start, once stopped on the surface of the water or underwater. Moreover, since the propeller can be driven even by the engine, a distance of travel is elongated with less increased weight, when compared to the case that the propeller is driven solely by the engine.

The air-cooled general-purpose engine includes: an oil pump which pumps up an oil from an oil reservoir; and an oil-supply path which is formed in the one end wall, facing the cooling-air path, of the engine main body, and configured to guide the oil discharged from the oil pump to a valve operating chamber in a head portion of the engine main body, and a jet for jetting the oil is provided in an opening of the oil-supply path, the opening being open to the valve operating chamber. Accordingly, it is possible to be excellent in cooling oil and to preferably lubricate a valve operating system in addition to the surrounding of a crankshaft.
