The sealing surface formed to the frame structure can be a rotationally symmetrical surface and the surface pressing against the sealing surface formed to the frame structure of the measurement window made of an optical material can be a rotationally symmetrical surface.

    • A refractometer is disclosed having a light source and an optical window to be positioned in a process liquid. A beam of rays is directed from the light source to an interface (RP) between the process liquid and the optical window and leading back part of the beam of rays refracted from the interface to the inside of the optical window. An image formed in the above manner is observed. The beam of rays from the light source is directed to the interface (RP) between the process liquid and the optical window from the side of the process liquid and in the direction of the interface.

    • The invention relates to a refractometer comprising an optical module (4) arranged floatingly inside a housing structure, which module comprises an optical window (2) to be positioned in a process fluid (3), and means for forming an illuminating beam and for directing it into the process fluid (3) through the optical window (2) and for directing back the part of the illuminating beam that is reflected from the process fluid, and further, means for watching the image formed in said manner. The optical module (4) is arranged to be supported against the housing structure by means of sealing (5) arranged between the optical window (2) and the housing structure. In order to provide a device suitable for difficult conditions, the housing structure part (6) in contact with the process fluid (3) against which the optical window (2) is arranged to be supported via sealing (5) is formed of a material that is chemically durable, mechanically rigid and durable and has good thermal conductivity.

To eliminate changing angles of the optical window, the light source, the optical window, the means for directing the beam of rays and the image detector are arranged in a rigid analyser module, which is positioned floatingly inside the frame structure to support on a substantially inelastic sealing arranged between the frame structure and the optical window by pressing the analyser module by spring means against the sealing.

    • An arrangement for moving a measuring head of a measuring device into and out of a process space. The arrangement includes a valve member that is attached to a wall of the process space. A measuring device is attached to the valve member and includes a body part provided with an elongated portion which in turn has a measuring head at one end. The measurement device also includes a placement device arranged to seize the measuring device and to move it through the valve member into a first position in which the measuring head extends into the process space and, correspondingly, into a second position in which the measuring head is not in contact with the process space. The placement device includes a stop element configured to seize the measuring device and to form a sealed casing around the body part of the measuring device, and a housing part arranged to attach to the valve member and to form a sealed casing around the stop element. The placement device is equipped with features that move the stop element seizing the body part of the measuring device inside the housing part so that the measuring device moves between the first position and the second position.
