The wobble signal reproducing device may include a computation unit for outputting a push-pull signal by use of a signal picked up by wobbling an optical disc; a wobble band pass filter (BPF) unit for applying band pass filtering to the push-pull signal based on a first control signal, applying low pass filtering to the band pass filtering-applied signal based on a second control signal, and outputting a wobble signal; a wobble phase locked loop (PLL) unit for generating a channel clock signal based on the wobble signal, wherein the first and second control signals correspond to the channel clock signal, the wobble BPF unit applies the band pass filtering at a center frequency varying based on the first control signal, and applies the low pass filtering at a cutoff frequency varying based on the second control signal. Accordingly, the wobble signal reproducing device and method can effectively reproduce a wobble signal in the CLV mode as well as in the CAV mode in which the spindle motor rotates at a constant speed.

    • An ultra wideband filter is provided that filters an input signal using a pair of cross-coupled transistors with a small size and small power consumption. The ultra wideband filter includes a reference current generator unit generating a reference current using a bias signal of a predetermined level, a transconductor unit that is biased by the reference current and converts a predetermined input voltage into a current of a predetermined amount to output the current if the input voltage is applied thereto, and a filter unit that outputs a predetermined output voltage corresponding to the output current of the transconductor unit using a plurality of cross-coupled transistors and capacitors. The filter unit may include cross-coupled nMOS and pMOS transistors, and first and second capacitors respectively connected to respective drain terminals of the nMOS and pMOS transistors. Accordingly, the ultra wideband filter can be designed in a minimum size.

    • A power amplifier that utilizes a minimum amount of power, and, simultaneously, inhibits the generation of distortion is described. The power amplifier includes a differential input terminal, an output terminal, a negative feedback circuit, and an adaptive bias current control circuit. The differential input terminal receives a first voltage and a second voltage respectively through a first terminal and a second terminal, and outputs a current corresponding to a difference in the input voltages. The output terminal outputs an amplified signal corresponding to the current output by the differential input terminal. The negative feedback circuit performs negative feedback of an output voltage of the output terminal and provides the output voltage to the first terminal of the differential input terminal. The adaptive bias current control circuit controls a bias current of the output terminal according to distortion information corresponding to the difference between the first voltage and the second voltage. Using the power amplifier, the bias current of the output terminal is increased when crossover distortion is severe, and decreases the bias current of the output terminal when there is no signal and no distortion. Thus, the level of power consumption is reduced and the generation of distortion is prevented.
