    • The invention relates to a controller for an unbalanced mass adjusting unit in a vibration exciter. Said controller comprises an adjusting piston for changing the relative position of unbalanced masses in the vibration exciter that is coupled to a reference piston. The position of a piston rod of the reference piston is detected by a pressure sensor and is furnished to a controller in the form of a position signal. The controller compares the position signal with an operating signal given by an operator and generates a control signal with which the position of a selector valve that controls the oil supply to or the oil discharge from the reference piston can be changed.

    • An oscillator or vibration exciter for soil or road tampers or compacting devices. Unbalanced shafts are journalled parallel to each other in a common housing, and are driven in opposite directions by gears which mesh with each other and are installed on the unbalanced shafts. Each shaft supports a centrifugal weight rigidly coupled therewith. One gear is rigidly connected with its unbalanced shaft, while the other gear is rotatably arranged on its unbalanced shaft and is coupled therewith in such a way that it can be shifted in the direction of rotation by shift pins, which are anchored in a slide piece which can be axially shifted in this unbalanced shaft. The shift pins project outwardly through a longitudinal slot in the unbalanced shaft. This other rotatable gear, on both sides, has stop faces which extend nearly radially as well as axially, and point in the same rotational direction. A shift pin is provided on each side of this gear, one end of each shift pin projecting from the unbalanced shaft. Both shift pins are axially spaced from one another, on a common slide piece, by such a distance that one of the shift pins is always located just out of alignment with the stop face on its side of the gear when the other shift pin on the other side has been shifted completely into alignment with the stop face associated therewith, in which connection the angular positioning of the stop faces and/or the shift pins are staggered relative to each other with respect to the unbalanced shaft.

    • An imbalance oscillation exciter having two imbalance weights arranged on each of two axially parallel or coaxial imbalance-weight carriers positively rotatably coupled with one another and rotating counter to each other or in the same direction. At least one of these imbalance-weight carriers comprises a shaft, whereby the imbalance-weight carriers are coupled with each other by a hub for continuous opposite rotation for the purpose of changing the phase position of the imbalance weights. A pin fixed on the shaft slidably engages in a hub groove. The pin is shiftable along a shaft slot extending at an incline to the hub groove by means of an adjustment member arranged coaxially in the shaft. The shaft has an axially parallel cylinder chamber open toward one of its end faces and in which the adjustment member is slidable with a piston extension sealed with respect thereto and facing the open side of the cylinder chamber. Pressure medium is supplied from the open side by way of a pressure medium chamber fixed in the housing and sealingly surrounding the pertaining shaft end and being applied against the mechanical back or reaction pressure of the piston extension. The rise or angle of inclination between the hub groove and the shaft slot, the direction of inclination, and the direction of rotation of the shaft may be so matched or adapted with respect to each other that the back or reaction pressure results from the torque transmitted by the pin.

    • A device for sealing V-belts and pulleys in plate jarring devices, in which a V-belt drive interconnects the drive motor and the unbalance oscillation generator fixedly connected to the bottom plate. The drive motor is in the advancing direction of the device offset relative to the oscillation generator and is arranged on the applied load cushioned relative to the ground plate. The device furthermore includes a protective housing which surrounds the pulleys and the V-belt and is closed on all sides with the exception of the passages for passing the motor shaft and unbalance shaft therethrough. The protective housing is firmly connected to the motor or to the applied load including the motor. The motor shaft passes in a dustproof manner through the passage provided therefor in the protective housing while a seal arranged stationarily is interposed between the motor shaft and the protective housing. The passage for the unbalance shaft has a radial oversize with regard to the unbalance shaft which oversize corresponds to at least the oscillation amplitude between the applied load and the bottom plate. The seal between the protective housing and the housing of the unbalance oscillation is established by means of a sealing ring which surrounds the unbalance shaft outside the passage in the protective housing. The sealing ring is firmly connected to the protective housing or to the housing of the oscillation generator and by means of its free end face facing away from one of said housings engages a plane annular sealing surface on the housing of the oscillation generator or engages the protective housing in each phase of the relative oscillation movement between said unbalance shaft and said protective housing.

This makes it possible, among other things, to effect a change in the relative position so that the magnitude of a total centrifugal force resulting from the unbalanced masses is proportional to an advancing speed of the soil compacting device.

    • A vibration generator for generating directed vibrations in a compacting device includes a housing and a first and second flyweight shafts rotatably supported in the housing and extending parallel at a distance to one another. The flyweight shafts have a respective flyweight connected thereto. A first and second intermediate shafts are rotatably supported in the housing and extend parallel to and between the first and second flyweight shafts. Gear wheels positive-lockingly connect the first and second intermediate shafts to one another, the first intermediate shaft to the first flyweight shaft, and the second intermediate shaft to the second flyweight shaft. In this manner, the first intermediate shaft and the first flyweight shaft, respectively, the second intermediate shaft and the second flyweight shaft rotate in opposite directions. One of the intermediate shafts has connected thereto two gear wheels, with one being coupled to the first flyweight shaft and another coupled to the second flyweight shaft. A rotational drive for driving the first and second flyweight shafts so as to rotate in opposite directions with identical rpm is provided. A phase-adjusting mechanism changes in a controlled manner the phase angle between the first and second flyweight shafts by adjusting the angular position of one of the two gear wheels relative to the second intermediate shaft in a controlled manner during operation of the vibration generator.
