    • The invention provides a system and method for filling a reservoir through one or a plurality of inlet nozzles to encourage mixing. The inlet nozzles include a specifically designed size reduction between the main line or branch to which the inlet nozzle is attached and the nozzle pipe itself; a specifically designed nozzle pipe length which, combined with the pressure increase provided by the size reduction, will produce the most appropriate jet flow; and a specifically designed location and orientation of the inlet nozzle within the reservoir. These parameters produce a developed turbulent jet flow which, when the inlet nozzle is positioned at the appropriate elevation and oriented in the appropriate direction(s), will direct the developed turbulent jet flow with the appropriate momentum to reach the surface of the water with initial major mixing taking place in this area. A corresponding draining system and method is also disclosed.

    • A method of constructing an elevated liquid storage tank is disclosed wherein an upright, cylindrical, reinforced concrete shell is erected using a centrally located co-axial scaffold having a concentric working platform slideably mounted thereon, and a working crane mounted on the top of the scaffold. An annular steel tank is fabricated concentrically about the base of the upright cylindrical shell. The tank has floor and roof openings for the upright shell to pass therethrough. The tank is raised to the top of the upright shell, and a reinforced concrete tank floor is poured to sealingly close the tank floor opening. The concrete tank floor interlocks with the upright shell to secure the tank in position.

    • This invention relates to an elevated liquid storage tank and a method of constructing same. An upright, hollow, cylindrical concrete shaft is constructed having a closed upper end portion forming a tank support floor. An upper, outer ledge is formed around the periphery of the shaft adjacent to the tank support floor; and a central, upright access tube is mounted in the tank support floor. An annular, steel tank wall is fabricated around the base of the shaft and hoisted to the top of the shaft using a plurality of jacks. The tank wall includes a lower annular ring beam and the space between the ring beam and the shaft upper end portion is filled with reinforced concrete to connect and retain the tank in position. Roof plates extend between the access tube and the tank wall to close the storage tank roof.

    • A tower is disclosed for the elevated storage of water or other liquids. The tower includes a concrete cylindrical shell having an upper distal portion, and a steel tank mounted co-axially at the upper distal portion. The tank has a lower floor opening for the shell distal portion to pass therethrough. The shell distal portion has a plurality of peripheral openings adjacent to the tank floor opening. A continuous tank floor passes through the shell peripheral openings, and sealingly closes the tank floor opening. The tank floor supports the tank and liquid therein, and connects the tank to the cylindrical shell.
