    • The instant invention is an adhesion promoter system, and method of producing the same. The adhesion promoter system comprises an aqueous dispersion comprising the melt kneading product of: (a) at least 60 percent by weight of a base polymer, based on the total weight of the solid content, wherein said base polymer comprises a propylene/ethylene copolymer composition, wherein said propylene/ethylene copolymer has a crystallinity in the range of from 1 percent by weight to 30 percent by weight, a heat of fusion in the range of from 2 Joules/gram to 50 Joules/gram), and a DSC melting point in the range of 25° C. to 110° C.; (b) from 0.5 to less than 30 percent by weight of a functionalized polymer composition, based on the total weight of the solid content, wherein said functionalized polymer composition comprises homopolymers of propylene or copolymers of propylene with hexene, octene and/or other like alpha-olefins, the homopolymers or copolymers having a single unsaturation, a terminal succinic anhydride moiety, and additional succinic anhydride substitutions on the polypropylene backbone, where the succinic anhydride substitution ranges from about 5 to about 45 weight percent of functionalized polymer composition; (c) from 0.1 to less than 20 percent by weight of a stabilizing agent, based on the total weight of the solid content; and (d) in the presence of water and optionally one or more neutralizing agents, for example, at a temperature in the range of 25° C. to 200° C.

    • The instant invention is an adhesion promoter system, and method of producing the same. The adhesion promoter system according to the present invention comprises an aqueous dispersion comprising the melt kneading product of: (a) at least 60 percent by weight of a first functionalized polyolefin, based on the total weight of the solid content; (b) optionally from 0.5 to less than 40 percent by weight of a second functionalized polyolefin, based on the total weight of the solid content, wherein said second functionalized polyolefin comprises homopolymers of propylene or copolymers of propylene with hexene, octene and/or other like alpha-olefins, the homopolymers or copolymers having a single unsaturation, a terminal succinic anhydride moiety, and additional succinic anhydride substitutions on the polypropylene backbone, where the succinic anhydride substitution ranges from about 5 to about 45 weight percent of second functionalized polyolefin; (c) from 0.1 to less than 20 percent by weight of a stabilizing agent, based on the total weight of the solid content; and (d) in the presence of water and optionally one or more neutralizing agents, for example, at a temperature in the range of 25° C. to 200° C.

    • The instant invention is a composite dispersion, method of producing the same, and articles made therefrom. The composite dispersion according to the instant invention comprises (1) a first seed dispersion comprising (a) a first internal phase; and (b) an external phase, and (2) a second internal phase; wherein the composite dispersion comprises more than 60 percent by the combined weight of the first internal phase and the second internal phase, and the composite dispersion has a viscosity of less than 10,000 cP measured by RV4 spindle at 20 rpm at greater than 60 weight percent total internal phase, and wherein the composite dispersion has a bimodal particle size distribution and a particle size ratio (P2/P1) in the range of 2 to 200. The first internal phase comprises a first hydrophobic material selected from the group consisting of alkyd, silicone, polyolefin, polyurethane, epoxy, emulsion polymer, and polyester. The external phase comprises water. The second internal phase comprises a second hydrophobic material selected from the group consisting of alkyd, silicone, polyurethane prepolymer, epoxy, and polyester. The process for producing a composite dispersion according to the instant invention comprises the steps of: (1) selecting a first internal phase comprising a first hydrophobic material selected from the group consisting of alkyd, silicone, polyolefm, polyurethane, epoxy, emulsion polymer, polyester; (2) selecting an external phase comprising water; (3) contacting the first hydrophobic material with the external phase; (4) thereby producing a first seed dispersion; (5) contacting the first seed dispersion and a second internal phase comprising a second hydrophobic material selected from the group consisting of alkyd, silicone, polyurethane prepolymer, epoxy, polyester; (6) thereby forming the composite dispersion, wherein the composite dispersion comprises more than 60 percent by the combined weight of the first internal phase and the second internal phase, and wherein the composite dispersion has a viscosity of less than 10,000 cP measured by RV4 spindle at 20 rpm at greater than 60 weight percent total internal phase, and wherein the composite dispersion has a bimodal particle size distribution and a particle size ratio (P2/P1) in the range of 2 to 200. The articles according to the instant invention comprise the inventive composite dispersion.
