    • The presently disclosed subject matter provides recombinant dopaminergic neurons and/or recombinant progenitors thereof that include one or more transgenes encoding a nurr-1 polypeptide, a pitx3 polypeptide, an Imxi a polypeptide, a biologically active fragment thereof, a biologically active derivative thereof, and/or any combination thereof.
