摘要： A combination of mismatch repair (MMR) and Metastasis Associated in Colon Cancer 1 (MACC1) gene expression status of the patient serve as a basis for risk stratification of early stage colon cancer patients. Patients with defective MMR (dMMR) status have improved survival and do not benefit from 5-fluorouracil (5-FU) therapies. In contrast, patients with a proficient MMR (pMMR) status have a higher risk of recurrence and worse survival. The pMMR patients are then further stratified on the basis of MACC1 gene expression. Patients with a pMMR status and a low MACC1 expression have a favorable prognosis similar to patients having a dMMR status, whereas patients having a pMMR status and high MACC1 expression have a less favorable prognosis.

摘要： This invention provides a surgical wound drain device which is adapted for postoperative multiphasic suction withdrawal of physiological fluids and coagulated solids and tissue debris from a wound cavity in a closed drainage system.The drain device consists of an inner catheter member, and an outer tubular member which has one or more thin pliable strips extending form the distal end periphery. The catheter withdraws accumulated body fluids in a postoperative first stage. The catheter is removed, and the remaining outer tubular member with its extended pliable strips is adapted to withdraw body fluids and coagulated solids and tissue debris in a second stage over an extended period.

摘要： An analysis method determines a functional parameter of an organ by measuring 13CO2 content in exhaled air of an individual to which a substrate has been administered. The reaction of the substrate in the body of the individual enriches the exhaled air with 13CO2. The maximum reaction rate of the substrate in the body is determined via a change of the measured 13CO2 content in the exhaled air using zero-order enzyme kinetics. An aqueous methacetin solution having a pH greater than 7.0 is used in the analysis method. A face mask separates the exhaled air from inhaled air. The face mask is configured such that inhaled and exhaled air flows essentially completely through the face mask. Exhalation and inhalation valves in the face mask allow a flow of inhaled and exhaled air through the face mask. A diagnostic method is used to determine the functional parameters of the organ.
