    • The present invention provides a method involving a femtocell in communication with an Internet Protocol Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) network. In one embodiment, the femtocell operates according to code division multiple access (CDMA) standards. The method includes receiving, from the femtocell and at a first secure entity in the IMS network, first authentication information generated by the mobile unit using a first random number broadcast by the femtocell in a global challenge. The method also includes receiving, from a second secure entity in the secure network, at least one security key formed based on the global challenge and second authentication information for uniquely challenging the mobile unit. In one embodiment, the second secure entity is a CDMA-based authentication server. The method further includes providing the security key(s) to the femtocell in response to authenticating the mobile unit based upon the second authentication information.

    • In an H-ARQ system, when the AN is receiving packet data traffic on the RL from an AT and is generating ACKs and NAKs according to the ability of the AN to properly decode such data, the AN gates-off a DRCLock bit within in a sub-packet duration in which an ACK is transmitted on the FL MAC channel. When it receives an ACK, the AT ignores the non-transmitted DRCLock bit in a current sub-packet duration, and assumes that the DRC channel is “good”. When the AN sends a NAK to the AT, it also sends the DRCLock bit. When the AT receives a NAK in a sub-packet duration, it reads and processes whatever DRCLock bit is received during that sub-packet duration. When no data traffic is transmitted on the RL traffic channel, corresponding DRCLock bits are not gated-off by the AN and are transmitted to the AT. The AT then processes the received DRCLock bits. In an alternative embodiment, transmission of DRCLock is totally eliminated.

    • The present invention provides a method of coordinating transmission by and reception by a plurality of antennas associated with a plurality of radio heads. The method includes determining, at a controller, at least one relative time delay associated with a plurality of backhaul links between the controller and the plurality of radio heads. The method also includes providing information indicative of a first signal over the plurality of backhaul links. The method further includes providing timing information over the plurality of backhaul links. The timing information is determined based on the relative time delay(s) such that the plurality of radio heads can use the provided timing information to coherently transmit the first signal using the plurality of antennas and a plurality of controllers to receive mobile unit transmitted information.

    • The present invention provides a method involving a corresponding node and a mobile node having a first session for multimedia communication. The first session includes a plurality of streams having a corresponding plurality of endpoints. The method includes providing, from a network entity, a first message to the corresponding node requesting transfer of at least one of the plurality of stream endpoints to at least one third node. The method also includes providing, from the network entity, at least one second message inviting the at least one third node to accept transfer of the at least one of the plurality of stream endpoints from the mobile node. The method further includes providing, from the network entity, a third message inviting the mobile node to modify the first session to transfer the at least one of the plurality of stream endpoints to the at least one third node.
