    • An adaptive antenna unit includes feeding antenna elements arranged so as to reduce spatial correlations thereof, parasitic antenna elements, provided with respect to each of the feeding antenna elements and arranged so as to increase mutual coupling between a corresponding one of the feeding antenna elements, variable reactance elements each terminating a corresponding one of the parasitic antenna elements, and a control section. The control section controls reactances of the reactance elements and controls weighting of the reception signals received by the feeding antenna elements, in response to the reception signals.

    • A bandwidth management apparatus determines, when a call whose communication information is to be transmitted as a sequence of datagrams is assigned, a link to be used for transmitting the communication information, judges whether there exists a surplus bandwidth in sections of the determined link, and allocates the call to a bandwidth necessary for transmitting the communication information when the judgement result is true, and informs a node that is involved in call setup for the call about the judgement result. Also disclosed are an address resolution assistance apparatus that cooperates with the bandwidth management apparatus, a band managing method, and an address resolution assisting method which realize the respective apparatuses. In a network to which the invention is applied, good speech quality can be stably maintained irrespective of its configuration and scale.

    • A channel reassignment is accomplished without causing a momentary interruption resulting from a mismatch in pointer value. After a bridge setting is made between a source channel and destination channel at a first node designated as the starting point of a reassignment section, messages B/C are sent out from the first node toward a fourth node designated as the end point. Second and third nodes that received the message C each transfer the message to the next node after interlinking the pointer operation of the destination channel with the source channel. The fourth node that received the message C sends out a message D toward the first node after changing the setting of a TSA. The second and third nodes that received the message D transfers the message to the next node after clearing the pointer interlinking operation.
