摘要： Systems and methods for providing incentives for the public to travel during time windows and routes that help alleviate traffic congestion. The systems described herein include at least two components: a computer server software system that includes various algorithms and database sub-systems; and a mobile device application. Generally, a user may enter an origin, destination, and preferred time of travel for an intended trip into the mobile device application, which transmits the information to a remote server. The server computes a route for the trip and provides the user with available incentives for traveling the route at one or more departure time windows. The user's mobile device transmits GPS data to the server, which allows the server to verify whether the user has traveled the route during the specified time window. If so, the server then provides the incentive to the user via the user's mobile device or through email.

摘要： Methods, devices and systems for estimating polarization characteristics of materials based on partial polarimetry are described. One example method for estimating polarization characteristics of a material includes illuminating the material with incident light, which can be unpolarized or have a particular polarization state. Two polarimetric measurements are conducted based on the interaction of the incident light with the material. The two polarimetric measurements detect light having orthogonal polarization states, and the interaction of the incident light with the material includes a depolarizing interaction. The method additionally includes determining an estimated coherency matrix eigenvalue and an estimated Mueller matrix throughput parameter using the first and the second polarimetric measurements, and determining an estimate of a full depolarizing Mueller matrix by extrapolating a reduced-rank Mueller matrix to obtain all sixteen elements of the depolarizing Mueller matrix that identifies the polarization characteristics of the material.

The grasshoppers may either be destroyed or processed as edible insects for food and feed.

摘要： The present invention provides a method of calibrating gamma-ray and photon counting detectors, including, but not limited to, monolithic crystal detectors. The method of the present invention is based on the observation that measurement of fan beam datasets allows the synthesis of collimated beam data to derive MDRFs by use of an algorithm that finds the common or intersecting data subsets of two or more orthogonal calibration datasets. This makes the calibration process very efficient while still allowing the full benefits of maximum-likelihood event-parameter estimation that incorporates the statistical nature of the light sensor measurements.

摘要： A reconfigurable sensor network uses continuous-variable (CV) multipartite entangled quantum states for distributed RF sensing with uncertainties below the standard quantum limit. A CV multipartite entangled state is generated with a quantum circuit that splits a squeezed vacuum state into spatially separated optical modes that are entangled. Each optical mode is transmitted to a RF-photonic sensor that imposes, on the corresponding optical mode, a quadrature displacement based on the local properties of an RF signal. A homodyne detector then measures the quadrature displacement. A post-processor combines the measurements to estimate a global property of the RF signal, such as an angle-of-arrival. To enable distributed sensing over large distances, the RF-photonic sensors may be spatially separated by several kilometers, or more. Alternatively, the RF-photonic sensors may be integrated into a single photonic system, such as a photonic integrated circuit.

摘要： Methods, devices and systems for measuring surface roughness and surface shape of an object are described. An example interferometric system includes a collimator and a first and a second light sources with different spectral ranges and different coherence lengths. The system selectively allows light from one of the light sources to reach the collimator, and also includes a beamsplitter, and a Mirau type microscope having an objective lens, a plate with a central reflective spot and a beamsplitter plate to produce a reference beam and a test beam. An imaging lens receives the test and reference beams that form a plurality of interferograms. A neural network receives two of the interferograms for measuring the surface shape and another two interferograms for measuring the surface roughness of the object. The interferometric systems have a compact form, making them suitable for on-machine measurements and other applications.

摘要： Cancer specific DNA methylation regions have been studied to find cancer specific DNA methylation markers for most common cancers. Differentially methylated regions for individual cancer types were identified and those were further filtered against data from normal tissues to obtain marker regions with cancer specific methylation, resulting in total of 1,250 hypermethylated and 584 hypomethylated marker CpGs. Optimal sets of six markers for each TCGA cancer type that could identify most tumors with high specificity and sensitivity (AUC 0.969-1.00) were chosen from hypermethylated markers and a universal 12 marker set that can detect tumors of all 33 TCGA cancer types (AUC>0.84) was also chosen from hypermethylated markers.
