    • A weaving machine arrangement includes a heald frame weaving machine and, arranged on both sides of the latter, two sets of accessory equipment. The warp thread set of the heald frame weaving machine is divided into a first set and second and third warp thread sets. The second and third warp thread sets are used in order to form extended turning-fold areas in the tubular-woven material. The accessory equipment forms patterns for the terminating positions of the weft threads in these areas, strong seaming functions are obtained in the tubular-woven material. Cut-off thread ends are anchored by heat action. The degree of automation is increased in relation to conventional manufacturing by virtue of the fact that the seaming function can be carried out in the heald frame weaving machine itself.

    • A weaving machine comprises an arrangement for adjusting or optimizing the consumption of warp thread. The weaving machine permits weaving of different widths for the woven material. First bobbins can be arranged next to one another, with synchronized rotation, on a warp beam (Vb) of the weaving machine in order to effect a warp thread supply which represents a minimum width for the woven material. Second bobbins can be arranged, individually from the point of view of rotation, in bobbin boards in order to effect a warp thread supply which represents widths between the minimum width and a maximum width for the woven material. The second bobbins are provided with, or can cooperate with, activatable and deactivatable brake members by which the number of second bobbins (2') corresponding to the set weaving width can be engaged for warp thread supply in the weaving machine.

    • A method of warp thread drawing-in for warp thread machines having at least one warp thread magazine, heald frame, and reed comprises the steps of placing the warp thread magazine, heald frame and reed from the warp thread machine on a warp thread charging device which is separate from the warp thread machine; passing warp thread groups, comprised of one or more warp threads, in stages through a respective heddle of a heald frame; assigning each of the warp thread groups a space in the reed; drawing each of the warp thread groups through its respective space with an automatic reeding device, the automatic reeding device being movable along a width of the reed as the drawing step is carried out; transferring the warp thread magazine, heald frame and reed from the warp thread charging device to the warp thread machine and returning the warp thread magazine, heald frame and reed to their operational positions in the warp thread machine. A warp thread charging apparatus is also disclosed.

    • An apparatus and method for actuating a drive member in a weaving machine comprises a drive unit, connected to a power supply network, for controllably rotating the drive member. The drive unit includes a direct-current operated unit selectively operable both as a direct-current motor and as a direct-current generator. A control unit is provided for generating and supplying to the drive unit at least one control signal for substantially continuously controlling the angular velocity of the drive member in each of its revolutions. According to the present method the control signal further selectively controls the drive unit to operate in first modes where the drive unit operates as a direct-current motor and in second modes where the drive unit operates as a direct-current generator. The drive unit is selectively operable over predetermined portions of a cycle of operation to function either as a motor energized by the power supply network or as a direct-current generator to feed energy back to the power supply network.

    • In a weaving machine a control unit for controlling the movement of the shaft frames or harnesses creates a feedback function through load cells and AC-servo motors that enables accurate shaft frame adjustment in forming an open shed. The weaving machine includes detecting mechanisms that detect parameters regarding condition the shaft frames. An individual control unit controls each of the shaft frames. The control units adjust the shaft frames in one or more positions to create open and closed sheds in the warp threads to enable the weft threads to be inserted by the shuttles as the warp threads change position. The control units receive feedback data of at least one of the parameters from the detecting mechanisms, such that operation of the control units incorporates the feedback data. Control systems control the control units to create a substantially constant level in the butting edge of the fabric irrespective of the positions of the shaft frames.
