    • It is suggested to provide a device (1) for connecting a cable to an electrical connector (15). The device (1) comprises a welding nest (16) and a connector advancing mechanism for feeding the electrical connector (15) to the welding nest (16). Preferably the welding nest is an ultrasonic welding nest. The connector advancing mechanism comprises a separation unit (2), a feeding mechanism (3) and a transfer mechanism (4). The separation unit (2) is a separation unit for separating at least one connector (15) from a strip (21) to which the connector (15) is attached. The at least one connector (15) is preferably separated from the strip (21) with a cutting die (17). The feeding mechanism (3) is a feeding mechanism for feeding the connector (15) to the separation unit (2). The transfer mechanism (4) is a transfer mechanism for transferring the connector (15) from the separation unit (2) to the welding nest (16). Along a direction of transport (T) of a connector (15) the feeding mechanism (3) is disposed before the separation unit (2) and the separation unit (2) is disposed before the transfer mechanism (4). The transfer mechanism (4) includes a pusher with one or two or more feed fingers (5) for pushing a first connector (15) in the direction of transport (T).
