    • A container holder for automotive use includes a mounting member wall having a recessed portion with an outwardly extending shelf. An outer member is pivotally mounted to the mounting member for pivotal movement between closed and open positions. The outer member carries container support means stored adjacent the recessed portion in the closed position and lying generally horizontal to support a container in the open position. The outer member includes a first pair of arcuate guide arms projecting from an upper portion of the outer member through laterally spaced slots formed in the wall adjacent laterally opposite sides of the recessed portion. An inner member includes a transverse guide portion connected at opposite lateral ends with a second pair of arcuate guide arms, extending through the slots and mounted for limited arcuate sliding motion of the inner member relative to the outer member. The inner member is pivotable with the outer member and the transverse guide portion is configured to fit between the recessed portion of the wall and the upper portion of the outer member when the outer member is in the closed position. Pivotal travel of the inner member is less than the pivotal travel of the outer member so that, in the outer position, the transverse guide portion is spaced inwardly of the outer member and is engagable with a container supported on the support means to control tipping of the container when mounted in the container holder. Additional features are disclosed.

    • A vehicle door arrangement is provided including inner and outer panels. The inner panel has a through opening, a tubular grommet which is received in the opening and snap-fittingly secured to the inner panel, and a plurality of electrical conductors extending through the grommet. The through opening in the inner panel extends inwardly from a side edge of the inner panel. The inner panel has at least one ear extending transversely into the opening adjacent the side edge. The grommet is resilient and has a groove which extends inwardly from its outer periphery and whose outwardly facing bottom is shaped substantially complementary to the opening. The ear engages the bottom of the groove and deflects the grommet as the latter is transversely inserted into the opening until the grommet is fully received in the opening and the ear is aligned with a deeper portion of the groove whereupon the grommet, due to its inherent resiliency, returns toward its normal free state position and locks behind the ear to lock the grommet to the panel.

    • A clutch structure has a housing in which is slidably disposed a fluid-operated piston, a plurality of inner and outer splined friction plates and a return spring assembly. The friction plates have formed thereon a spline portion such that alternating discs have the splines extending radially outward, engaging the housing, or extending radially inward, away from the housing. The clutch structure is assembled by positioning the clutch housing in a fixture composed of a ring which is sized to accommodate the outer spline of the one set of friction plates. The plates are arranged in two vertical stacks with the inner splined plates in one stack and the outer splined plates in the other. The plates are alternately installed in the housing by descending from the stacks solely by the force of gravity until a desired number of plates have been installed. The piston and a pressure plate can be installed in the housing prior to mounting the housing to the fixture, if desired. The return spring assembly and a backing plate are installed in the housing after the clutch plates have been installed.

    • A device for assisting with the radial distribution of a fluid from a rotating shaft having an axially oriented feed passage opening through an entry, end portion of the shaft and a plurality of discharge ports (P.sub.1 -P.sub.4) spaced axially, and circumferentially, about the shaft to effect communication between the feed passage and the exterior of the shaft. The device is insertably received within the entry end portion of the feed passage. A plug portion is provided to retain flange by being utilized to determine the extend to which the plug portion may be insertably received within the feed passage. An annular constriction is presented from the device, and the constriction is adapted to be located interiorly of, and axially inwardly from, the entry end portion of the feed passage. A flared portion tapers conically outwardly from the constriction and extends inwardly along the feed passage for a predetermined distance to underlie selected discharge ports (P.sub.3 -P.sub.4). The flared portion extends from the constriction to a terminal end portion. A spacer flange extends radially outwardly from the terminal end portion to engage the interior wall of the feed passage. The spacer flange is circumferentially discontinuous to provide at least one back-flow aperture along the exterior of the terminal end portion.
