摘要： A system for generating a shaped optical pulse is disclosed. The system includes a master oscillator for generating an initial optical pulse, which is then directed to a semiconductor optical amplifier to amplify a portion of the initial optical pulse. The amplified pulse is reflected from a fiber Bragg grating to spectrally clean the amplified pulse and the reflected portion is returned back through the semiconductor optical amplifier. The semiconductor optical amplifier is activated a second time to amplify the reflected portion of the pulse. The time delay between the two activations of the semiconductor optical amplifier is selected to generate an output pulse with desired duration and/or amplitude profile over time.

摘要： An eddy current type of inspection device having input signal coils on cores radially arranged around a center and having outer ends of the cores which rest against a surface of a metal assembly to be tested for defects. The input coils are energized by an AC signal of different phase for each respective coil so that a rotating magnetic field is produced in the assembly being tested. An output sensor coil is mounted at the center of the tester immediately adjacent to such test surface for coupling out a signal induced from the rotating field. A specific embodiment has three coils physically spaced 120.degree. apart, for energizing by a three-phase power source.

摘要： A printed circuit board connector with right-angle pins therein having drilled holes which are aligned with one leg of the pins internally of the body, removing a section of the pin and thus causing an electrical gap or open circuit. A set screw is threaded into each hole to close the circuit when screwed in to contact the severed end of the pin leg. When any one of the plurality of set screws is backed out a short distance, the screw side still contacts one of the pin legs but the screw end separates from the other pin leg to cause a pre-faulted open circuit to be diagnosed by service trainees. The same circuit board can be used to provide any of several faults by selecting which screw to loosen.

The retainer has a generally cylindrical shape and has a plurality of ball pockets. Clearence between the surface of the lands and the confronting surface of one of the rotating members is typically of the order of tens of thousandths of an inch.

The light beam is then optically scanned at a predetermined scanning rate to produce an optical image of the input signals against a time base. Successive reference transparencies are utilized until correlation between the transparency and the input signal to be identified is indicated by a peaking of the detector output which is sensed by a correlation indicator.

A deflector electrode in the form of a flat dish is placed behind the filaments, and director electrodes which may be in the form of wire meshes, are placed forward of the filaments in the direction in which the electron flow is desired. Additional electrodes which may be in the form of narrow plates are placed along the ends of the filaments to compensate for fall-off in emission at the filament extremities. The various electrodes are positioned relative to the filaments and have potentials applied thereto such that the uniform distribution of electrons is provided over a predetermined area throughout which electron flow is desired.

摘要： A commutator generator for generating a plurality of station gating signals each having different gate time. A resettable binary counter provides output timing signals which are gated with the commutator generator output signals. Control circuitry selects the number of pulses to be elapsed before changing the state of an output counter, as well as resetting the binary counter. The output counter, in turn, is coupled to a decoder which produces the commutator generator output signals. A station selector initially sets the output counter to one of the station gates. Further, a station envelope is coupled to an envelope processor to initially enable the resettable counter.
