According to the present invention, it is possible, for an electronic device such as a notebook PC having a wireless communication function, to compensate the deviations of resonance frequency of antennas caused by errors in mounting of the antennas for individual devices, the difference in the dimension of structures or the like, to match the resonance frequency to the specified central frequency.

摘要： An apparatus, system, and method are disclosed for autonomically disposing a computer such as a workstation. The computer's local persistent storage medium is configured with pre-boot image which is configured with a set of functional modules that facilitate disposal or recycling of the computer to the next user. The disposal and recycle methods are automated, require minimal user intervention, and facilitate moving configuration options and data to a different computer. The entire process may execute from the pre-boot image on the computer's local persistent storage medium without ever booting the primary operating system.

摘要： A method for reducing the boot time for a computer includes: supplying power to the computer; disabling a plurality of input/output (I/O) devices coupled to the computer; performing a boot process for the computer; and placing the computer in a suspend to memory state before a user turns on the computer. The method reduces the boot time for a computer by placing the computer in a suspend to memory mode rather than completely shutting off the computer. In this manner, when a user of the computer pushes the power button, the computer wakes up from the suspend to memory mode instead of being required to perform the entire boot process. This significantly reduces the time required to make the computer available to the user, allowing the computer to function like an appliance.

摘要： As a user depresses an eject button from the standard position to its sunken position and an instruction is transmitted to an installed notebook PC to request the disconnection of a driver for a device being operated in a docking station. When a notification is received from the PC indicating that the disconnection has been completed, for example and not to limit the a solenoid type electromagnetic apparatus switches a plunger to its non-projected position. The eject button is then placed into its projected position owing to the urging force of a spring. When the user depresses the eject button placed in its projected position, a motion direction converting lever is pivoted to activate an ejecting member and a locking hook. Consequently, the PC is ejected.

摘要： Component module insertion and removal protection in computer systems. In one aspect, a connector assembly for a component module includes a connector that receives the component module and receives power from a power selection circuit, and a module attachment mechanism operative to secure the component module to the connector when a movable member is in an engaged position. In a disengaged position, the movable member allows the component module to be removed from the connector. When the movable member is moved from the engaged position, the state of a switch of the power selection circuit is changed, causing the power selection circuit to remove power from the connector and from at least a portion of a circuit board to which the connector is electrically coupled.
