摘要： A sleeved filter apparatus prevents germs from becoming resident on both the interior and exterior of a breathing device. The sleeved filter apparatus includes a filter member and a sleeve member. The filter member is composed of a first and second enclosure half which are sealed on their interior ends. The external ends of the two enclosure halves have connectors for connecting the sleeved filter apparatus to a breathing device and/or a patient airway component. A filter element is disposed inside the filter member enclosure for preventing gases from flowing between the first connector and the second connector of the filter member without passing through the filter element. This filter member prevents germs from passing between the patient and the interior of the breathing device. The sleeve member is made of a flexible material, and has a first open end, a second open end, and a middle portion extending between the first open end and the second open end. The first open end of the sleeve member is sealingly engaged to the filter member. The sleeve member has a diameter sized to surround the breathing circuit, and a length sufficient to extend along most or all of the entire length of the breathing circuit. The sleeve member prevents germs and bacteria from passing between the patient and the exterior of the breathing device. The sleeved filter apparatus is removable between procedures to permit reuse of the breathing circuit without substantial cross-contamination between patients.

摘要： An airway intubation device having a one-piece molded body of biocompatible material with an ergonomically designed hand piece for left hand manipulation. The body includes a cap piece and linear-curved-linear insertion piece having a channel in one side thereof for insertion of an endotracheal tube. The channel has a wide entry portal disposed ahead of the hand piece so that a clinician may load the channel with a tube while the insertion piece is in the mouth of the patient without having to view the entry portal. The device includes illumination means and viewing means comprising an eye piece or a video display unit mounted to the cap piece so that a clinician can view the insertion of the tube between the vocal cords of a patient without contact.

The gas port connector has a first diameter, and the gasket member is engageable with and conformable to a face of a patient. The strap system includes a strap member having a first end portion, a second end portion and a middle portion, and a collar. The collar includes an axially extending portion having a second diameter. The strap system includes a strap having a first end portion, and a second end portion; the collar also includes a radially extending portion having at least a first and a second slot through which the first and second end portions, respectively of the strap can pass. The slots are sized for adjustably receiving and fixedly positioning the first and second end portions of the strap.
