摘要： A surgical instrument assembly includes a frame system, and a surgical tool engageable with the frame system. The frame system is adapted for providing a surgical tool attachment and articulation locus that is maintained during the course of a surgical procedure to direct a fixed and repeatable delivery path for introduction and manipulation of one or more surgical instruments and implants at a surgical site in or on the patient's anatomy. The delivery path can be substantially curvilinear along an arc that is defined by a radius of curvature and length defined by the surgical tool, and a predetermined range of articulation of the tool at the articulation locus.

The system includes a modular retractor with a body and hood that are independently operable at their proximal ends to manipulate soft tissue at their distal ends, and may be adjustably and releasably coupled to form an open channel to a target tissue. On insertion, the hood is at least partially compressed against the retractor body. When coupled, the retractors are displaced from one another and constrained to one or more of at least three degrees of freedom, movable pivotally around a proximal end pivot axis that is perpendicular to the channel to adjust displacement of the retractors at their distal ends, displaceable vertically to adjust the distance between the retractors at their proximal ends, and slidable horizontally along the channel axis.

摘要： Disclosed is an oscillator system whose output pulse rate is controlled by some environmental parameter such as light or temperature. In one embodiment of the system, the output of a first inverter is connected to one input of a NOR gate whose output is connected to the input of a second inverter. The output of the NOR gate is also connected via a capacitor to the input and output of the first inverter. The output of the second inverter is connected via a sensing device to a second input of the NOR gate. The resistance of the sensing device varies as a function of the environmental parameter sensed to cause the NOR gate either to generate a sequence of output pulses or to generate no output signal.
