    • In a distributed system of modules in a network, each module having an associated processor node comprising a processing unit for operating the associated module. The processing unit comprises a processor interface for communication in the network; and nonvolatile memory for storing code for the processing unit for operating the associated module, and for storing backup code for at least one other processing unit of another processor node in the network, the backup code for operating an associated module of the another processor node. In response to a request, the processing unit supplies the backup code to a processor node to be used to restore the code for operating the module associated with the requesting processor node.

    • A computer-implemented method for minimizing join operation processing time within a database system based on estimated joined table spread of the database system has been provided. The computer-implemented method includes, estimating value distribution of data in a joined table, wherein the joined table is a result of join operation between two instances of tables of a database system. The computer-implemented method further includes determining boundaries for partitioning at least one range of attributes of the estimated value distribution, wherein the boundaries for partitioning at least one range of attributes of the estimated value distribution corresponds to a same number of rows of the joined table. The computer-implemented method further includes determining at least one assignment of the determined partition of the at least one range of attributes to processing units of the database system.

    • There is provided a method and data processing system for restructuring web content which consists of a plurality of web pages. The method comprises the steps of generating a log file which comprises a history of web pages. The history of web pages comprises all web pages that have been selected by a user from the plurality of web pages. An access frequency is determined for each of the selected web pages by use of the history of web pages. A subset of web pages is determined which comprises the web pages that have been accessed by the user with the largest access frequency. This subset is limited to a maximum number of web pages. The plurality of web pages is generally arranged in a tree structure. The tree structure is rooted at the starting webpage. The web pages that are comprised in the subset of web pages is either linked to a portlet which is directly linked to the starting webpage or the subset of web pages is determined at the point in time when the user accesses the user specific special webpage which is also directly linked to the starting webpage. The method in accordance with the invention is particularly advantageous as it allows a user to directly access a webpage within a few clicks away from the starting webpage. Thus he does not have to click through many web pages in order to arrive at his favorite web pages.

    • The present invention provides a collaboration technique for synchronizing display scrolling and the locations of remote pointers in the windows of web browsers, independent of the types and the setups of the web browsers. An example embodiment of an information processing system comprises: a collaboration server to be connected to a web server, and a plurality of terminals, for obtaining web content from the collaboration server and for performing a cooperative operation. Terminal devices includes a web browser for displaying web content, and obtains identification information for an object selected as a synchronization reference among objects in the web content, and transmits the information to the other terminal, with which it performs a cooperative operation. The terminal employs the identification information for a predetermined object that it receives, calculates the location of the pertinent object, and controls the web browser in accordance with the location of the object.
