摘要： The present invention provides a process for producing a rigid polyisocyanurate foam involving reacting at an isocyanate index of from about 175 to about 400, a polyisocyanate with at least one natural-oil polyol containing at least about 35 wt. %, based on the weight of the polyol, of natural oil, having a hydroxyl number from about 175 to about 375 and a hydroxyl functionality of about 2.0 to about 2.8, in the presence of a blowing agent and optionally, in the presence of one or more of surfactants, flame retardants, pigments, catalysts and fillers, wherein the resulting foam has a renewable biobased content of at least 8% by weight. The foams provided by the inventive process possess properties similar to foams produced from petroleum-derived materials and may find use in wall or roof insulation systems. The high biobased content (>8%) may allow wall or roof insulation systems containing these foams to be considered for the U.S. Government's preferred procurement program.

摘要： The present invention is directed to a polyisocyanate mixture i) having a monomeric diisocyanate content of less than 3% by weight, ii) having a urethane group content of more than 50 equivalent %, based on the total equivalents of urethane and allophanate groups, and iii) containing siloxane groups (calculated as SiO, MW 44) in an amount of 0.002 to 50% by weight, wherein the preceding percentages are based on the solids content of the polyisocyanate mixture and wherein the siloxane groups are incorporated by reacting a) an isocyanate group from a polyisocyanate adduct containing isocyanurate groups and prepared from a monomeric diisocyanate having at least one cycloaliphatic group with b) a compound containing one or more hydroxyl groups directly attached to a carbon atom and one or more siloxane groups to form urethane groups. The present invention also relates to the use of this polyisocyanate mixture, optionally in blocked form, as an isocyanate component in one- or two-component coating compositions.

摘要： Polyols are produced by an alkoxylation process in which a vegetable oil containing hydroxyl functional groups is combined with a DMC catalyst to form a mixture, the DMC catalyst is then activated by adding ethylene oxide and/or propylene oxide to the vegetable oil/catalyst mixture, and ethylene oxide and propylene oxide are added to the mixture containing activated DMC catalyst in amounts such that the total of percentage of ethylene oxide in the polyol plus percentage of primary hydroxyl groups in the polyol produced is from 50 to 77% and the percentage of primary hydroxyl groups is at least 30% but less than 50%. These polyols are useful for the production of molded polyurethane foams, particularly, hot-cure molded polyurethane foams.

摘要： A method of irreversibly immobilizing an enzyme in a polyurethane and an enzyme-containing polyurethane having a degree of immobilization of the enzyme of approximately 100%. The synthesis of waterborne polyurethanes in the presence of enzyme has enabled the irreversible attachment of the enzyme to the polymeric matrix. The distribution of immobilized enzyme as well as activity retention are homogeneous within the polyurethane. Decreasing ECC hydrophobicity, via the use of a less hydrophobic polyisocyanate prepolymer during polymerization, significantly enhanced the intrinsic activity of the ECC.
