摘要： A readhead for illuminating a sample carrier and receiving light from the sample carrier, including a housing for receiving a sample carrier, an array of light sources mounted within the housing in a fixed position relative to the sample carrier, and including first and second light-emitting diodes for emitting substantially monochromatic light of a two different wavelengths, a light guide mounted in the housing between the light-emitting diodes and the sample carrier, and a light detector coupled to receive light from the sample carrier. The readhead also includes a light source for directing excitation light of a predetermined wavelength to the sample carrier, and a light filter positioned between the sample carrier and the light detector and adapted to prevent passage therethrough of the excitation light. The readhead allows both fluorescence spectroscopy and reflectance spectroscopy to be conducted on the sample carrier.

摘要： A high crack pressure valve is described. The high crack pressure valve includes an inlet adapted to receive a medical fluid pressurized by a pump; an outlet in fluid communication with a fluid path element, wherein the fluid path element is in fluid communication with downstream system components of a fluid delivery system; and a moveable element having a crack pressure threshold. The moveable element has a first closed position and a second open position and is configured to move from the first closed position to the second open position when a fluid pressure at the inlet is greater than or equal to the crack pressure threshold. The pressure of fluid at the outlet of the high crack pressure valve has little or no effect on movement of the moveable element from the first closed position to the second open position. Fluid injector systems and fluid path elements which include the high crack pressure valve are also described.

摘要： A plunger for use with a syringe includes a plunger body defining a central longitudinal axis and having a proximal end, a distal end, and a circumferential sidewall connecting the proximal end and the distal end. The plunger further includes at least one retaining member associated with and extending proximally from the plunger body. The at least one retaining member has a first end connected to the plunger body, a second end proximal to the first end and radially and resiliently deflectable relative to the first end, and at least one catch on the second end. A fluid injector system includes a piston having a plunger engagement mechanism configured for interacting with the at least one retaining element of the plunger to releasably engage the plunger for reciprocally driving the plunger within a barrel of the syringe.
