    • A finishing member for masonry walls allows for simple installation and accurate placement of caulking around windows and doors in cavity wall construction. This invention accommodates a wide variety of window or door frame profiles, particularly those having an outwardly directed channel such as so called J-channel frames, for the detailing and finishing work required for proper installation of a window or door into a masonry veneer or cavity wall construction without requiring a highly skilled and labor intensive installation.

    • A structural steel stepped closure frame is disclosed having a closure stop that is spaced apart from the closure jamb and discontinuously joined thereto, forming gaps between the closure jamb and the closure stop. The gaps and joinery are obscured from frontal view by a stop face positioned forward of the closure stop, creating a partially hidden closure stop. The partially hidden closure stop may extend entirely around the closure for windows or lids, or less than entirely for doors or gates. The gaps receive legs of a weather stripping that has a flange extending over the closure stop. The partially hidden closure stop, along with the jamb, extensions, and facings, are sized, shaped, and arranged to create a stepped appearance.

    • A fiber-reinforced pultruded polymeric door frame has side and header jamb assemblies which are essentially devoid of wood and other materials which are susceptible to being damaged by the affects of weather. Such jamb assembly generally includes a pultruded jamb which has a rearwardly- and/or downwardly opening cavity.     • A double sliding door arrangement cooperating with a double-wide door opening formed in an upright wall. A top header beam extends across and defines the upper extremity of the door opening. A pre-tensioning arrangement mounted on and extending lengthwise of the top header beam causes the header beam to be deflected upwardly into a shallow bowed shape. A support track is fixed to and extends lengthwise of the header beam and horizontally for predetermined distances along and rigidly fixed to the wall adjacent right and left sides of the door opening. Right and left slab doors are supported on and vertically suspended downwardly from said track in sidewardly co-planar relationship, and are movable along said track between closed and open positions. The doors in the closed position vertically load and downwardly deflect the header beam, whereby the initial upwardly bowed shape minimizes outward swinging between opposed inner edges of the doors when in the closed position.
