摘要： A biodegradable packaging material, a method of manufacturing the same, as well as products made of the material wherein the manufacture comprises extrusion onto a fibrous substrate one or more polymer coating layers including at least one layer of a polymer blend consisting of (i) 20-95 wt-% of polylactide having a high melt index of more than 35 g/10 min (210° C.; 2.16 kg), (ii) 5-80 wt-% of polybutylene succinate (PBS) or a biodegradable derivate thereof, and (iii) 0-5 wt-% of one or more polymeric additives. The components of the blend are melted and blended in connection with the extrusion step. The goal is to improve extrudability, increase machine speed in extrusion and maintaining good adhesiveness to the substrate and good heat-sealability of the coating. The products include disposable drinking cups and board trays, as well as sealed carton packages for solids and liquids.

摘要： A wet coating composition useful for coating a cellulosic fiber-based substrate is provided. The composition includes two aqueous emulsions. The first emulsion includes an oxidized paraffin/polyethylene wax and the second emulsion includes an ethylene/acrylic acid copolymer wax, ethylene/acrylic amide copolymer wax, ethylene/acrylic acid/acrylic amide copolymer wax or a mixture thereof. The oxidized paraffin/polyethylene wax has a surface energy less than or equal to 2 m N/m being substantially dispersive energy. The wet coating composition when dried forms a coating having a surface energy ranging from 20 to 60 m N/m being the sum of dispersive and polar energies. A process for treating a cellulosic fiber-based substrate with the wet coating composition, a substrate coated and articles including the coated substrate are also described. The process involves a heating step to allow migration of the coating towards a core of the cellulosic fiber-based substrate.

Primer coat comprises a wax-free aqueous dispersion characterized in that a dry film thereof has a flexibility of at least 1 100% for a film thickness from about 1.0 to about 2.5 mm. The top coat aqueous dispersion is characterized in that a dry film thereof has a flexibility of at least 570% for a film thickness from about 1.5 to about 2.5 mm. A process for preparing the coated foldable paper-based substrate comprises applying the primer coat to the surface of the paper-based substrate, applying the top coat and drying the coats. The primer coat may be dried before application of the top coat.
