摘要： According to an aspect, there is provided an elevator car parking brake. An operating fork is configured to move within a housing in a direction perpendicular to an end surface of a guide rail in response to operating an actuator. When the actuator is operated to move the operating fork within the housing towards the guide rail to achieve a braking state, the operating fork is configured to push braking wedges towards side surfaces of the guide rail to contact the side surfaces. When the actuator is operated to move the operating fork within the housing away from the guide rail to achieve a brake release state, detaching means are configured to pull the braking wedges away from the side surfaces of the guide rail.

摘要： In a safety gear for an elevator, a pressing spring device applies a resistance force against movement of a normal-wedge guide member in a direction of moving away from a guide rail. A normal-wedge member has a reverse-wedge guide surface becoming more distant from the guide rail as extending upward. A reverse-wedge member is movable with respect to the normal-wedge member along the reverse-wedge guide surface. A vertical-direction spring device applies a resistance force against upward movement of the reverse-wedge member with respect to the normal-wedge member. A spring constant of the vertical-direction spring device is lower than a spring constant of the pressing spring device. The vertical-direction spring device has a region in which a rate of change in force generated along with increase in upward displacement amount of the reverse-wedge member with respect to the normal-wedge member decreases as compared to that in initial displacement.

摘要： The disclosure relates to a mine shaft conveyance safety brake for controlling the rate of deceleration of a free-falling conveyance, operating within or upon fixed shaft guides, in a vertical, substantially vertical or inclined mine shaft. The safety brake includes an activation system, one or more guide clamp assemblies operable for locking onto one or more shaft guides, one or more braking assemblies and one or more brake paths attached upon the conveyance. Upon detection of a conveyance suspension failure or slack rope condition associated with a free-falling or obstructed condition of the conveyance, the activation system is triggered, causing each guide clamp assembly to self-lock onto a shaft guide. Upon further downward travel of the conveyance, the braking assemblies travel upwardly upon the brake paths, generating increasing braking forces in a controlled manner until the conveyance comes to a controlled stop. The safety brake is purely mechanical in nature, as there are no electronics, electro-mechanical controls or hydraulic systems involved.

The safety brake is self-regulating by comprising the pressure-relieving arrangement provided, due to the rotation of the shaft (4), to relieve the spring biasing by pressing the first brake part (6) towards the spring assembly's (30) spring action and thus from the other brake part (8), until a balanced position is obtained whereby both brake parts (6, 8) frictionally slide against each other.
