    • The depth minder comprises a drill bit having a shank and an integrally attached flange, with male threads thereon, which has a larger diameter than the shank so that it prevents drilling to a deeper depth than the length of the drill bit beyond the flange. A primary spacer is also used which has female threads to accept the male threads of the flange partially into the top of the spacer, a bottom surface, and a central hole which is large enough to accommodate the largest sized drill bit of a series of bits, thereby further selectively reducing the drilling depth. One or more adaptor spacers of plastic or of metal are additionally used to provide additional options regarding the depth of penetration desired for the drill bit. Such an adaptor spacer is adhesively attached to the bottom surface of the primary spacer or to the lower surface of the flange, thereby providing a range of drilling depths. If made of metal, the bottom surface of the adaptor spacer is preferably covered with felt in order to prevent marring of the work surface.

    • The device for producing a drilled hole with an undercut includes a drilling tool having a shank and a drilling head faced with a plurality of diamond chips, a drilling tool-holder structured to hold the drilling tool and a rotatable sleeve having an axial throughgoing passage for the drilling tool and the drilling tool-holder and also having a lateral connecting pipe for a cooling and flushing liquid. So that the drilled hole with the undercut can be made in a single working step using the same drilling tool, the shank of the drilling tool (2) is provided with a stop collar (12) and also a cross-sectionally enlarged portion (17). The shank of the drilling tool (2) tapers uniformly toward the drilling head (11) and also tapers uniformly toward the stop collar (12). The shank is provided with a plurality of longitudinally extending helical grooves at least in the vicinity of the enlarged portion so that the enlarged portion can act together with the wall of the drilled hole as a pivot during formation of the undercut.

    • The countersink tool assembly of the present invention is rotatably driven by a conventional drill apparatus and includes an insert having a central aperture and two diametrically opposed ears which extend into the central aperture. A multi-fluted countersink tool is concentrically mounted within the aperture such that the diametrically opposed ears extend into the flutes of the countersink tool at a desired axial location. The ears are adapted to engage and follow the contour of the curved outer wall surface which concentrically surrounds the hole. As such, the countersink tool assembly translates rectilinearly with respect to corresponding changes in the curved contour of the outer wall surface.

    • A tool for trimming coaxial cable comprises a cable-holding member and a cutter-holding member. Sections of the cable-holding member and cutter-holding member are matable for movement relative to each other and they are initially secured together so that stop surfaces of these members are spaced from one another based on the amount of trimming that must be done to trim a cable to a precise electrical length. The end of the cable is secured in the cable-holding member with the end to be trimmed disposed against a cutter member secured to the cutter-holding member. The matable sections are unsecured, the cutter-holding member is rotated relative to the cable-holding member so that the cutter member trims the cable end until the stop surfaces engage.

    • An improved dental burr and method of preparing a tooth for a porcelain to metal restoration. The method comprises the forming of a test trough of a precise depth in the tooth enamel across a tooth and removing the necessary enamel from the rest of the tooth to a corresponding depth so as to provide the space necessary to accommodate the required thickness of the porcelain restoration. To secure the desired optimum depth, a dental burr is provided with a stop flange to limit the depth of the cut or trough. In one embodiment the stop flange is rendered detachable connected to the burr so as to render the burr useful for other procedures.

    • A cutting or drilling apparatus comprises a body member adapted to be fixed to the chuck of a driving means for driving the apparatus into rotational movement. The body member receives the cutting or drilling tool at one front side thereof and is equipped with a coaxially arranged sleeve member, which is slidably and rotatably connected thereto. First, stop means limit sliding and rotational movement and second, locking means block sliding and rotational movement of the sleeve member. A scale on the sleeve member indicates the amount of axial displacement thereof relative to the body member. The apparatus is especially suitable for use with a conical sheet metal drilling tool.
