摘要： A method, a computer program product and a device for requesting access to a node (BS) of a wireless communications network (10) are described. In the network (10) identification codes are used to differentiate access requests of different network components (UE). The method comprises the step of determining information about a transmission path (12) to e.g. the network node (BS), the step of determining an identification code in dependence on the determined transmission path information, wherein previously an association between identification codes and transmission path information has been established, and the step of modulating the selected identification code onto a signal to generate an access request signal carrying transmission path information.

In order to deregister the relay station, a base station ends a handover of mobile stations connected to the relay station, and informs the relay station accordingly. When the handover of the mobile stations is ended, the relay station performs a deregistration procedure. Messages that already exist are used as messages necessary for the method.

In one example, an indication is provided to a mobile device to indicate a preference for network-initiated QoS or a preference for device-initiated QoS. QoS for a data flow can be established in accordance with the indication. For instance, the mobile device initiates QoS when the indication specifies a preference for device-initiated QoS while a network establishes QoS when the indication specifies a preference for network-initiated QoS.

摘要： A search system for a radio LAN terminal includes: plural terminals; and a search computer that searches for connectable terminals out of the plural terminals in a radio LAN, wherein the search computer includes: a communication unit provided to be capable of changing transmission power of radio communication for performing radio communication via the radio LAN with the plural terminals; and a storage unit that stores a search list in which identification information including identifiers for identifying the searched terminals are listed according to an order of the searched terminals, the plural terminals include terminal communication units for performing radio communication with the search computer via the radio LAN, the search computer broadcasts a probe request for searching for the terminals by minimizing a set value of the transmission power of the radio communication of the communication unit, the terminals having received the probe request transmit response signals including the identification information of the terminals from the terminal communication units to the search computer, the search computer checks whether the response signals received are response signals from new ones of the terminals not stored in the search list, the search computer adds, when the response signals are response signals from the new terminals, the identification information included in the response signals to the search list of the storage unit, and the search computer performs, when the response signals are not response signals from the new terminals or the response signals are not received, a series of search operations starting from the probe request by increasing the set value of the transmission power of the radio communication of the communication unit.

Decrease or minimize, delays between the time the old link breaks and the first packet is sent from the new link. Reduce or eliminate packet bursts from old to new Access Router (AR) when an old (existing) link breaks. Ensure that packets are neither lost nor duplicated during hand-off. Maintain Quality of Service (QoS) control of delivery order to the Mobile Node (MN). Make best use of multiple links during Make before break hand-off. Support both uplink and downlink traffic.

摘要： Methods and/or apparatus for communicating and/or using device capability information are described. Device capability information may be broadcast by a device using a first protocol. The protocol may be a beacon signal based protocol. The device information is used to select a second protocol and/or a device configuration to be used to communicate user data. In some embodiments the first protocol is a low bit rate protocol supporting less than 300 bits per second while the second protocol is a much higher rate protocol supporting in some embodiments data rates in the range of kilobits per second or even much higher data rates. The second protocol normally uses signal phase to communicate information while the first protocol does not use signal phase in many but not necessarily all embodiments.

摘要： Wireless devices, e.g., in a cognitive radio network, discover and use locally available usable spectrum for communication. Beacon signaling facilitates available spectrum discovery and spectrum usage coordination. A wireless terminal, which may have entered a new area and powered up, monitors to detect for the presence of beacon signals in a first communications band. The wireless terminal makes a decision as to whether or not to transmit based on the monitoring result. In addition, when beacon signals are detected, decoded information recovered by the wireless terminal from the received beacon signals is used in making the transmission decision. The decoded information includes, e.g., type information indicating that a second band is allowed to be used for peer-peer communications and/or identification information identifying at least one of a wireless communications device which transmitted the beacon signal and a current user of the wireless communications device which transmitted the beacon signal.

Substantially any type of function that constrains encoding and/or decoding within a peer-to-peer network may be utilized. For example, a reversible function may be employed that enables a receiving peer to discern an identifier of a transmitting peer over a series of peer discovery intervals. Pursuant to another example, an irreversible function may be utilized whereby a receiving peer may be unable to decipher the identifier of the transmitting peer from a received signal; however, expected signal formats of buddy peers may be compared to the received signal to determine a presence of one of the buddy peers in a vicinity.
