摘要： A semiconductor switching circuit includes a main current branch which includes at least one main semiconductor switching element and through which current flows in a first direction when the or each main semiconductor switching element is switched on. The semiconductor switching circuit also includes an auxiliary current branch that is connected in parallel with the main current branch. The auxiliary current branch includes at least one auxiliary semiconductor switching element. One or more control units are configured to switch on the or each auxiliary semiconductor switching element as the or each main semiconductor switching element is switched on to selectively create an alternative current path via the auxiliary current branch whereby current flowing in the first direction through the main current branch is diverted instead to flow through the alternative current path to reduce the rate of change of current flowing through the or each main semiconductor switching element.

摘要： In one embodiment, a variable frequency drive system includes a main contactor, a variable frequency drive, a charging module structured to generate a magnetizing AC voltage, wherein the charging module is structured to selectively provide the magnetizing AC voltage to a transformer of the variable frequency drive, and a sensing and control circuit having a number of sensors operably associated with the variable frequency drive. The sensing and control circuit is structured to detect a short circuit condition in the variable frequency drive when the magnetizing AC voltage is provided to the transformer based on an output of at least one of the number of sensors, and responsive thereto prevent the main contactor from being closed and thereby prevent the main AC voltage from being provided to the transformer.

摘要： A control system for controlling an operation of a hydroelectric turbine. The control system comprises a converter system to convert AC power, supplied by a generator connected to the turbine, and having a voltage and frequency that is a function of a rotational speed of the turbine, to AC power having a voltage and frequency of a transmission system for transmitting the AC power to a receiving station. The system further comprises a control unit that is arranged to co-operate with the converter system to adjust the AC voltage supplied by the generator in response to a water flow speed through the turbine to thereby control rotation of the turbine. The converter system comprises a first-stage converter and a second-stage converter, with a DC link provided between the first and second-stage converters. The first-stage converter is arranged to convert the AC power supplied by the generator to DC power. The second-stage converter is arranged to convert the DC power to the AC Power for transmission to the receiving station and the second-stage converter is of a voltage-source inverter type.

摘要： In the ground fault detecting circuit, one terminals of first to third resistance elements are connected to first to third AC lines, respectively, the other terminals of the first to third resistance elements are commonly connected to one terminal of a fourth resistance element, and the other terminal of the fourth resistance element is connected to a line of a ground voltage. On the basis of a voltage across the terminals of the fourth resistance element, the ground fault detecting circuit detects whether a ground fault has occurred or not. Since a current does not flow through the fourth resistance element in the normal state and flows through the fourth resistance element after the occurrence of a ground fault, it is possible to detect the occurrence of the ground fault at a high accuracy.

摘要： In a thyristor control device which converts a first AC voltage to a DC voltage and converts the DC voltage to a second AC voltage to be supplied to a synchronous motor, a DC voltage detector is configured to detect the DC voltage, and is provided with an AC voltage detector configured to detect the second AC voltage and an arithmetic circuit configured to determine the DC voltage on the basis of the second AC voltage detected by the AC voltage detector. As a result, there is no need to separately provide a DV voltage detector, which makes it possible to make the device compact in size and cheap in price.

The resonant converter can include an inverse cyclotron converter with two or more or quadruple plates and a plurality of circuit switches. The bidirectional converter can include a three-phase grid-tied converter. The FEEC device is capable of decelerating plasma particle beams, thereby extracting the energy from the deceleration, converting the extracted energy to electric energy, and sending the electric energy to a power grid.
