    • A power transmission line cover includes an elongate, flexible panel and first and second elongate, integral edge portions. The first edge portion includes an elongate first latch feature and the second edge portion includes an elongate second latch feature. The cover includes an elongate inner creepage extender wall forming a part of one of the first and second edge portions, and an elongate outer creepage extender wall forming a part of one of the first and second edge portions. The flexible panel is wrapped about a power line and the edge portions are joined together to form a longitudinally extending closure seam wherein the latch features are coupled and the edge portions form an electrical creepage path extending from the chamber to an exterior boundary of the cover along the inner creepage extender wall, between the first and second latch features, and along the outer creepage extender wall.

    • A line-jumper apparatus typically includes a first connector, a second connector, and a housing attached to the first connector and the second connector. In a closed position, the housing provides a low-resistance current path and a high-resistance current path between the first connector and the second connector. In an open position, the housing inhibits current from flowing between the first connector and the second connector. The housing is configured so that, when the housing is transitioned from the closed position to the open position, the low-resistance current path is opened before the high-resistance current path. The housing typically includes a safety mechanism that prevents the low-resistance current path from being opened unless the high-resistance current path is closed.

    • A conventional grounded steel tower, or other structure, supports multiple wires (e.g., 6) carrying multi-phase high voltage electricity (e.g., >100 kV). Each wire is supported by a ceramic insulator connected to a horizontal arm of the structure, where an angled strut helps support the arm. There are usually three tiers of wires. The closest distance between a wire and ground is typically between the wire and an angled strut below the wire, where the angled strut helps support a lower-tier wire. A guard formed of a dielectric is affixed to and covers the lower portion of the steel strut as well as any steel that outward extends beyond the strut. The guard prevents flashover between a wire and the underlying grounded strut if a large bird perches on the guard, since the bird will not be grounded by the strut.
