摘要： This keypad for the input of control commands comprises a membrane keypad, a carrier, a keypad base and a key module. The switching operation, initiated by keys, takes place in a closed unit in the form of a carrier which encloses the keypad base and the membrane keypad. The switching contacts are located within the membrane keypad which is sealed against moisture, whereby the actual performance of the switching command take place within the sealed membrane keypad, switching plungers of the keypad base having only an actuating function. The sealed unit in the form of the carrier considerably eases installation in that the keypad base and the membrane keypad can be pre-installed in the carrier at the factory the key module can be placed over them at the installation site.

摘要： In a keyboard which drives membrane switches by selectively depressing key tops, hinge portions are formed integrally with a housing in an array of hinge receiving holes made therein in correspondence with a desired array of key tops, a top panel having openings corresponding to the hinge receiving holes is bonded to the top of the housing and the key tops are each disposed to cover the corresponding opening and the entire length of the corresponding hinge portion and is fixedly engaged with the free end of the hinge portion through the opening. By the application of pressure to and its removal from each key top, the lower end of the free end of the corresponding hinge portion operates to make and break the underlying membrane switch.

The keytop portion and retaining portion are formed into a unitary body by a resin-molding process in which resin is passed through a hole provided in the resin film such that the resin film is sandwiched between the keytop portion and the retaining portion. In another embodiment, the retaining portion is loop-shaped and is formed into a unitary body with the keytop portion by a resin-molding process in which the resin passes through a plurality of holes provided in the resin film in a pattern corresponding to the loop-shaped circumference of the retaining portion. The resin film is sandwiched in a water-tight state between the keytop portion and the loop-shaped retaining portion.

摘要： An electronic keyboard includes a base defining a surface having a plurality of faces oriented at different angles. A flexible printed circuit defining rows of switches is disposed on the base surface and rows of switch actuators are disposed on the printed circuit. The actuators comprise key guide strips which define key positions offset along the rows from the switch positions and spring strips which bridge the key and switch positions so that, when keys slidably mounted in the key guide strips are depressed, they close the associated switches. The spring strips are designed to produce minimum operator fatigue and all of the keyboard components coact to give the keyboard a very low profile.

摘要： An extremely low cost, high speed, full stroke keyboard is disclosed which provides momentary impulse operation. N-key rollover protection and standard tactile feedback. The keyboard includes a plurality of depressible keys mounted on respective upright synthetic resin flaps designed to collapse upon key depression and engage and move an underlying, resilient, U-shaped shifting member; the member in turn engages and shifts another U-shaped resilient element which supports one or more upstanding encoding posts. When the U-shaped element reaches a cocked position it is disengaged from the shifting member and allowed to snap back toward the original rest position thereof independently of subsequent return movement of the key and shifting member. The snap back motion is sensed and a corresponding key output signal developed.

摘要： A switch mechanism for use in an electronic toy having a printed circuit board, a portion of which has a pattern of printed wiring with contacts thereon. A body of conductive resilient material, disposed in the housing of the toy with the printed circuit board, has a base portion with an opening therein. Part of the base is a bridge across the opening, having a push button and a web flexurably connecting the push button to the base. The body is disposed in juxtaposition with the board portion over the contacts with the push button extending through an opening in the housing to present an end of the button which, when depressed, causes a connection to be made between the board contacts through the conductive material of the body for operating the electronic circuits of the toy. A plurality of push buttons may similarly be disposed as part of individual bridges on the base for operating different circuits of the toy when depressed.
