    • Disclosed herein are an air valve for an energy storage device and an energy storage device including the same. The air valve for an energy storage device includes: a body including a gas inlet and a gas outlet disposed to be spaced from each other; and a piston included in an inner portion of the body and blocking or opening a path between the gas inlet and the gas outlet, wherein when pressure in the inner portion of the energy storage device increases due to gas generation therein, the piston moves to open the path between the gas inlet and the gas outlet, and when the pressure in the inner portion of the energy storage device decreases due to discharge of the gas in the inner portion of the energy storage device or reduction in the gas generation, the piston moves to block the path between the gas inlet and the gas outlet.

    • A valve assembly is disclosed that provides for complete or partial fluid pressure balancing across the valve, and can be used for reducing valve actuation forces in order to employ electric actuation. The valve assembly includes a valve housing having a valve chamber, a flow passageway, and a piston chamber. A valve member is disposed in the valve housing and is movable along a valve axis. The valve member is subjected to a first pressure, which urges the valve in a first direction. To counteract this force, a piston integral with the valve member is slidably arranged in the piston chamber. One side of the piston is subjected to this first pressure to provide a counterbalancing force. A pressure passage fluid communication of the first pressure between the flow passageway and said one side of the piston.

    • A regulator for controlling the pressure of flowing fluid and also for selectively fully enabling or stopping the flow. The regulator valve includes a valve housing having an inlet passage and an outlet passage connected by a flow passage with a seat surrounding the flow passage. A valve member is movable toward and away from contact with the seat. A control housing is attached to the valve housing. An elongated rod connected at one end to the valve member has an opposite end extending into the control housing. A rod piston is connected to the opposite end of the elongated rod and is movable in the control housing in sealing engagement with the walls thereof. A compression spring is provided to bias the rod piston and the valve member in directions either toward or away from sealing engagement with the flow passage seat. An auxiliary piston is positioned in the control housing on the side of the rod piston away from the seat. An extender is formed on the auxiliary piston and is engageable with the rod piston to maintain a minimum spacing between the rod piston and the auxiliary piston. Alternately a cup-shaped member with an extender could be on the rod piston. First and second ports and a vent port are formed in the control housing and can be alternately connected by conduits to deliver pressure to move the valve member toward or away from the valve seat. A solenoid operated control valve or similar device is positioned in the conduit leading from the inlet passage for controlling the flow of fluid in this conduit.

    • A unidirectional-retroaction electromagnetic valve comprises a valve body, O-ring, manual opening unit, and electrically controlled blocking unit. The valve body is connected to a gas source directly and the electrically controlled blocking unit is used to stop gas in a dangerous situation. Two actions are required to open the electromagnetic valve when the dangerous situation no longer exists. First, push the manual opening unit to move the valve plate of the electromagnetic valve forward a certain distance, then the electrically controlled blocking unit moves the valve plate further according to a danger removal signal provided by a judgment device. The electromagnetic valve is not opened completely until these two movements are operated, thereby, it can prevent the blocked valve from opening intentionally during an unsafe situation.
