    • Apparatus for conveying sewage or waste water by means of a rotatable displacement pump positioned within a housing. A cutting device is positioned at a water inlet for cutting solid materials that are part of the waste water to reduce their size in order for the materials to be able to pass through the pump. The pump is an eccentric worm-gear pump and is driven by a motor drive shaft that also drives the rotatable portion of the cutting device. The apparatus has a compact design and provides a high suction capacity, and a conveying capability that is independent of the supply resistance, so that a small diameter pump outlet pipe can be provided for the sewage.

    • A progressing cavity, positive displacement rotary pump for liquid or semiliquid material, having a specially designed flexible coupling shaft for connecting a drive shaft to an orbital rotor. The pump components include a tubular stator with an interior helical surface and a hollow tubular orbital rotor within the stator operably connected to the shaft and having an exterior helical surface. The rotor and stator define therebetween sealed pumping cavities that advance axially as the rotor rotates and orbits within the stator. The rotor has a tapered socket with a polygonal transverse cross-section (e.g., pyramid-shaped) at its outer end. The rotor is coupled to the rotor drive shaft by the flexible coupling shaft that extends through the hollow rotor and that has an enlarged tapered head formed to fit tightly in the socket and be retained therein by a threaded fastener. The opposite end of the coupling shaft is connected to the drive shaft outside of the rotor. The coupling shaft flexes to accommodate orbital movement of the rotor during operation of the pump. Also, a unique seal retainer is used to locate a packing-gland-type shaft seal for the drive shaft. The retainer facilitates removal and replacement of the seal components.

    • A fluid pump for use in explosive bore holes comprising an elongated outer housing having upper and lower ends and adapted to permit water to enter the interior thereof. A hydraulic motor is secured to and is positioned in the lower end of the outer housing. A pump housing extends upwardly from the hydraulic motor within the outer housing. A drive shaft rotatably extends upwardly from the hydraulic motor within the pump housing and has a rotor means connected thereto for rotation therewith. The rotor rotatably extends through a pump stator means which is positioned in the pump housing. A pair of hydraulic hoses are in communication with a source of hydraulic fluid under pressure and extend downwardly into the outer housing between the outer housing and pump housing. The hoses are fluidly connected to the hydraulic motor. A discharge line is fluidly connected to the upper end of the pump housing so that water in the bore hole will be pumped upwardly through the discharge line upon actuation of the hydraulic motor. Circuitry is provided to automatically deactivate the hydraulic motor when the water has been completely removed from the bore hole. Means is also provided to prevent rocks or the like from falling in the bore hole when the pump is positioned therein. Means is also provided for removing the fluid pump from the bore hole.
