    • Panels are formed from foamed plastic or the like, with anchor members embedded in the inner faces and having connector engaging portions extending from one face of the panel. A pair of panels is held in spaced and parallel relationship by a plastic connector member which is slidably engaged within the anchor portions extending from the panels. The anchor portions are situated adjacent each end of the panels and have upper and lower extending portions spaced from the upper and lower edges of the panels. The connectors each have upper and lower anchoring engaging portions so that a four point connection is made between each pair of panels. Concrete may then be poured between the panels which act as forms and remain in place.

    • A lightweight structural panel comprises a foam core member. Adhered to one face of the core member is a pigmented plastic cover sheet having substantially the same plan configuration as the core member. The plastic sheet contains a mix of additives, antioxidants, and pigment coatings which prevent it from cracking, splitting and getting hard. In addition, the cover sheet has substantially the same response to changes in temperature and humidity as the core member such that the panel retains its original shape despite changes in temperature and humidity. In another embodiment both faces of the core member include a plastic cover sheet adhered thereto.

    • A construction panel is provided comprising a core of expanded or foamed polymeric material embodied between two major face members of resin reinforced with glass fibers. The side walls of the panel comprise pultrusion angle members which are encapsulated in the panel within the major face members. Elongated U-shaped pultrusion reinforcing members may be disposed within the panel to provide reinforcement and a channel for the receipt of wires, pipes, or to act as heating, air conditioning or vacuum cleaning ducts. The glass fibers used to reinforce the major face members are in multidirectional orientation and have portions extending into the interior of the panel to provide a mechanical and chemical bond between the core and the major face members. The pultrusion members may be made from resin reinforced with continuous strands of glass fibers in unidirectional orientation, and are preferably prestressed.

    • A prefabricated building construction comprising a base, a plurality of wall units and a plurality of roof units. Each of the wall units comprises at least one panel with a hollow vertical opening therein. Each roof unit comprises at least one panel with a hollow portion therein. When the wall units and roof units are placed in position, the hollow portions of the wall units and the hollow portions of the roof units are in communication and concrete or other settable material is poured through the openings to provide a unitary structure. Reinforcing rods and the like can be positioned in the communicating hollow portions.

    • A structural panel is provided with a core comprising a thick layer of urethane foam. The core is reinforced by a sheet of metal wire fabric embedded in and effectively bonded to the urethane foam whereby to reinforce the same. Lining each of the oppositely facing surfaces of the core is a urethane sheet also bonded to the urethane foam. Extending into one surface of the panel and along one edge thereof is a wide angle, V-shaped groove of a depth sufficient to sharply reduce the thickness of the core to a thickness approximately corresponding to that of said metal wire fabric, whereby the panel is divided into main body and flange parts interconnected by a hinge formation consisting of the area of said wire fabric embedded in the area of said core sharply reduced in thickness by said groove, and of the associated areas of said sheets of urethane.
