    • An apparatus comprising a geogrid sand fence for depositing matter moved by wind currents including a stand fence and related methods are provided. A geogrid sand fence for the control of sand or other particulate matter movement can include support members carrying a fencing material. The fencing material can include a High Density Polyethylene geogrid mesh material having apertures distributed to provide a 50% porosity to maximize sand deposit volume. The geogrid mesh material has sufficient structural weight to be employed with a height of approximately 2 meters, which can be adjusted to maintain maximum effectiveness.

    • A fastener for anchoring fencing to a post. The fastener includes first and second separable and complementary sections, each section have an inner and outer surface, a middle web portion, opposed first and second sides extend from opposite edges of the middle web portion in a direction outwardly from the middle web portion, and opposed first and second ends. Male coupling members extend in a direction outward from one of the sides of the first section and the second section has female receiving spaces on one of the sided. Wherein the male coupling members being biasable for engagement with the spaces to detachably secure the sections together with the inner surfaces facing one another such that the inner surfaces define an axial passage that extends from the first to the second ends of the sections, whereby the passage permits the fencing and post to be clamped together between the sections.

    • An environmental barrier device includes a first member and a second member. The first member may be constructed of a first sheet material. The first member may have a memory retaining shape. The first member may be normally oriented in a generally upright position and resiliently deflectable from the generally upright position. The second member may be secured to the first member. The second member may be constructed of a second sheet material. The second sheet material may be flexible and may define a filter media. The filter media may allow the passage of water and preclude the passage of dirt and silt. The environmental barrier device includes a lower portion for positioning below ground level and an upper portion for positioning above ground level. The environmental barrier device may be driven over or otherwise deflected from a generally upright orientation and the first member may automatically return the environmental barrier device to the generally upright orientation.

    • A portable fence system including a snow fence panel having a wood frame of 2".times.6" posts bolted together at the corners, with a 4-foot wide strip of plastic snow fence material pulled taut across the center. Each panel is 8 feet long, with a height of 6'-8" or 8'-0", depending upon the application. In both cases the geometry of the frame is optimized for maximum snow trapping efficiency and maximum snow storage, and an opening at the bottom is optimized to eliminate the tendency for snow deposition at the fence. Panels are connected to one another by rebar pins passing through specially designed rotatably mounted U-clips, which also provide attachment to rebar anchors driven into the ground. The U-clip-and-pin connections allow rapid installation and take-down, and add flexibility needed for proper installation in irregular terrain. Panels can be overlapped at either the top or bottom as required to limit space between panels to 11/2", which improves trapping efficiency.
