摘要： There is provided a laser machining apparatus, and a laser machining method using the same, which allows an installation area thereof to be reduced while improving working efficiency. The laser machining apparatus has a body portion having a plurality of laser irradiating sections and work mounting sections, a supplying stocker for supplying workpieces, and a discharging stocker for discharging the workpieces. The apparatus further comprises a supply-side transfer unit having work retaining tables capable of attaching/detaching the workpieces and of the same number with the laser irradiating sections, and moving the work retaining tables in the vertical and horizontal directions, and a discharge-side transfer unit having work retaining tables capable attaching/detaching the workpieces and of the same number with the laser irradiating sections, and moving the work retaining tables in the vertical and horizontal directions. The supply-side unit causes the plurality of supply-side work retaining tables to adsorb the workpieces from the supplying stocker one after another and moves these supply-side work retaining tables to the work mounting sections to place the workpieces thereon. The discharge-side unit causes the discharge-side work retaining tables to adsorb the workpieces which have been machined at the work mounting sections to move and discharge those workpieces to the discharging stocker.

A pick-and-place conveyor has suction cups to remove each group in unison from the platen and place it on a belt conveyor. Suction holes in the channels selectively retain the groups on the platen. The comb, pick-and-place conveyor, and belt conveyor operate in synchrony and reiteratively to create a continuous stream of spaced apart strips.

摘要： Media is transported to an imaging region using a vacuum feeder. A vacuum head is positioned onto the media and a vacuum is applied to the vacuum head to hold the media against the vacuum head. The vacuum head is then relocated to the imaging region carrying with it the media. In one embodiment, the vacuum head holds the media slightly above the surface of the imaging region. After the media is imaged, the vacuum head moves the media to an output region. In the output region the vacuum is removed from the vacuum head allowing the media to detach from the vacuum head and remain in the output region. In another embodiment, the vacuum is removed from the vacuum head allowing the media to detach from the vacuum head and remain in the imaging region. A second vacuum head is positioned in the imaging region onto the media and a vacuum is applied to the second vacuum head to hold the media against the second vacuum head. The second vacuum head is then relocated to the output region carrying with it the media. The second vacuum head moves the media to an output region. In the output region the vacuum is removed from the second vacuum head allowing the media to detach from the second vacuum head and remain in the output region.

A shaft pivotal about a generally horizontal axis transverse to the forward direction on the vertical slide is fixed horizontally relative to the outer horizontal slide. A gripper fixed on and angularly displaceable with the shaft is engageable with the frontmost carton of the stack and carries a lever angularly coupled to the gripper and having offset from the axis a follower engaged in the vertical guide of the outer slide for, on vertical movement of the vertical slide, pivoting the gripper between a pick-off position engageable with the frontmost carton and a drop-off position directed downwardly above the conveyor.
