摘要： In an injection molding machine capable of appropriately adjusting a control condition for a reverse rotation of a screw and a method for adjusting the control condition, molding is repeated with an amount of a reverse rotation of the screw performed after completion of metering and before injection to be varied in each molding cycle. In injection, resin flows backward until a check valve becomes closed. A peak value of a rotational force causing reverse rotation of the screw by the back flow of resin and other physical amounts are detected as indices of resin back-flow amount. An evaluation value of the control condition is obtained by inputting the indices of resin back-flow amount, metering time, etc. into an evaluation function. The value of screw reverse rotation amount with which the highest evaluation value is obtained is set for the screw reverse rotation.

摘要： An injection pressure waveform for use as a target value for injection pressure feedback control is set based on the actual injection pressure waveform detected when a conforming molded article is obtained. Alternatively, the target injection pressure waveform may be set by modifying a previously retained injection pressure waveform or an actual injection pressure waveform. The previously retained injection pressure waveform or actual injection pressure waveform is displayed on a screen of a display device (T1). Two points on the displayed injection pressure waveform are assigned, and the pressure waveform is modified into a line connecting these two points (T3, T6, T8). Further, two points on the injection pressure waveform and one point between these two points are assigned, and the pressure waveform is modified into a circular arc connecting these three points (T4, T7, T8). The injection pressure waveform modified in this manner is set as the target value for the injection pressure feedback control (T8, T9).

摘要： An intelligent molding system (FIG. 2) is provided that makes use of data directly associated with a molding environment or particular mold (50, 52). Accessible data, typically stored locally in an in-mold memory device (76, 78) or input via an HMI (86), identifies parameters germane to mold set-up and machine operation. Upon receiving such data, a machine controller (80) operates to configure a molding machine (10) to an initial set-up defined by the data considered close to an optimal operating condition for the mold. Mold set-up data can include information relating to a fill profile for a molded article that is partitioned into different zones having different thicknesses and geometries. Weighting factors for the various zones compensate for differing cooling and flow characteristics. The memory (76, 78) can also be used to store historical data pertaining to mold operation, settings and alarms.

According to one preferred embodiment, an injection molding apparatus is provided that includes a manifold, at least one injection nozzle coupled to the manifold, an actuator, and a valve pin adapted to reciprocate through the manifold and the injection nozzle. The valve pin has a first end coupled to the actuator, a second end that closes the gate in a forward position, and a control surface intermediate said first and second ends for adjusting the rate of material flow during an injection cycle. Retracting the valve pin tends to decrease the rate of material flow during the injection cycle and displacing the valve pin toward the gate tends to increase the rate of material flow during the injection cycle.
