摘要： A continuous method for producing a lightweight sandwich panel comprises providing a scattered layer of glue-coated woodchips; pressing this layer and bonding the wood chips under pressure and temperature conditions such that a high vapor pressure is built up in the center between the cover layers; relieving the pressure by moving the pressing surfaces away from one another, whereby the chipboard tears open in the center due to the built-up vapor pressure and divides into two cover layers of equal thickness; moving the cover layers apart; introducing a foam system that can be foamed and cured to form a hard foam between the cover layers; bringing the cover layers together to the nominal thickness of the lightweight sandwich panel to be produced and holding the pressure until the intermediate layer has finished reacting; and finishing the lightweight sandwich panel.

The present invention provides adequate bonding at reduced cost.

The particulate binder composition can have a fusion diameter of about 35 mm to about 70 mm.

摘要： The invention pertains to a method of manufacturing a fire proof board from strands of wood, the method comprising the following steps in the given order: (a) providing strands of wood having a humidity between 5% and 25%, preferably between 5% and 20%, even more preferably between 8% and 20%, (b) immersing the strands of wood in a watery solution of a flame retardant chemical composition, (c) separating the strands of wood from each other, (d) at least in part drying the strands of wood thereby providing dry impregnated strands of wood, (e) applying an adhesive to the strands of wood, and (f) forming a board of a predetermined shape from the strands. The invention furthermore pertains to a board formed by a plurality of strands of wood that are compressed and bonded together with an adhesive, wherein the board further comprises a flame retardant chemical composition, said composition comprising a phosphate compound.

摘要： The disclosed composite wood particulate products, adhesives contained in such wood particulate products, and methods of making the adhesive and the wood particulate products employ an aldehyde-free adhesive, and more specifically a formaldehyde-free adhesive. The aldehyde-free adhesive includes an inert additive that extends a resin, such as an isocyanate resin, and forms an evenly dispersed, less expensive polymeric adhesive admixture. The extender-filler of the resin is mixed with water to form a slurry. The slurry can then be mixed with a resin, like the isocyanate resin, to form the adhesive. Various rheology modifiers can be added, if desired, to the extender-filler or the slurry. The adhesive can be blended with wood particles to form a mat that is then pressed into a composite wood particulate product.
