    • A self contained, toolless quick change tool holder for trigon cutter inserts on machine tools comprises a housing having at least one seat portion which is adapted to receive and conform to the shape of a variant shaped cutter insert. A fork is mounted in the insert housing and is movable within the insert housing. The fork engages a variant shaped cutter insert. A locking mechanism is contained within the housing and has a clamp position which forces the clamp portion to engage a variant shaped cutter insert and a release position which forces the clamp portion to disengage from a variant shaped cutter insert to allow removal and replacement of said variant shaped shaped cutter insert. The locking mechanism moves between the release position and the clamp position.

    • A fixing device for fixing a workpiece defining a hole, includes a fixing shaft, a sliding bar, and a sliding block. The fixing shaft is configured to be inserted in the hole of the workpiece and defines a groove therein along an axial direction thereof. The sliding bar is mounted to the fixing shaft and movable in the groove along the axial direction. The sliding block is mounted to the fixing shaft and movable in the groove along a radial direction of the fixing shaft. When the sliding bar moves forward along the axial direction, the sliding block is moved toward the sliding bar along the radial direction. When the sliding bar moves backward along the axial direction, the sliding block is driven to move away from the sliding bar along the axial direction to urge against a wall bounding the hole of the workpiece to fix the workpiece.

    • The invention relates to a device for clamping a hollow shaft tool (1) or tool holder provided with a conical hollow shaft (3) in a machine spindle (2) provided with a taper bore (4), especially for use in a machine tool. The device comprises a clamping sleeve (7), axially displaceable inside the machine spindle (2), a tow-rod (8) for displacing the clamping sleeve (7) and being movable between a release position and a clamping position, and a plurality of pincer elements (19) associated with the clamping sleeve (7). The pincer elements are radially displaced by the displacement of the clamping sleeve (7) and have clamping faces (21, 24) to be placed on a conical inner surface (22) of the conical hollow shaft (3) and an opposite surface (26) on the work spindle (1). The aim of the invention is to provide a clamping device of the aforementioned kind wherein the hollow shaft tool is reliably retained in the machine spindle even when the tow-bar is already released. For this purpose, the clamping sleeve (7) can be axially displaced relative to the tow-bar (8) and is axially biased by a compression spring (14) against the motion of release of the tow-bar (8).
